Here is all the latest Liverpool transfer news as the Reds reject two bids for players, Nico Williams makes a decision on his future and Anfield Watch offers up an exclusive on Joey Veerman.

LIVERPOOL CONSIDER MOVE FOR JOEY VEERMAN

PSV Eindhoven midfielder Joey Veerman has emerged as a target for Liverpool, Anfield Watch understands.

Arne Slot is looking for a No.6 who can help in the build-up phase and the 25-year-old is now under consideration.

It’s not clear how much PSV will ask for the Dutch international, who was arguably the Eredivisie’s best player last season.

Slot has often used technical players to occupy the position of a holding midfielder, most frequently using Mats Wieffer as his No.6 at Feyenoord alongside Quinten Timber.

The coach asked the new Brighton player to get forward as much as possible when Feyenoord were in possession and Wieffer forged eight goal contributions in 29 league matches while averaging 1.29 shots and 0.18 expected goals (xG) per 90 minutes.

Veerman made 21 goal involvements in PSV’s midfield as part of a double pivot last term and is being eyed by Liverpool’s recruitment team.

LIVERPOOL REJECT MARSEILLE OFFER FOR WATARU ENDO

Liverpool have turned down a €14 (£11.8m) million offer from Roberto De Zerbi’s Marseille for midfielder Wataru Endo.

The 31-year-old was signed for £16.2m from Stuttgart last summer and still has three years left on his current contract.

The Reds are not actively looking to sell the Japan international and James Pearce of The Athletic has revealed the reasons why the club turned down the offer from the Ligue 1 giants.

The timing of the bid does not suit Liverpool, says Pearce’s report, while a lack of replacements in the market is also cited as a reason for rejecting the bid.

Finally, the current needs of the squad mean that Arne Slot requires Endo to stick around for the time being.

It is not yet known whether Marseille will be back with another bid later in the window. Endo is also attracting interest from several clubs in the Bundesliga, according to Pearce.

LIVERPOOL REJECT PSV BID FOR SEPP VAN DEN BERG

Liverpool have also rejected an £8.4m bid from PSV Eindhoven for Dutch defender Sepp van den Berg, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

The 22-year-old has been strongly linked with a summer exit following his impressive loan spell at Mainz last season as he searches for regular first-team football.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that an £8.4m bid from PSV has been swiftly rejected by the Reds, with Liverpool evidently holding out for an offer closer to their £20m valuation of the centre-back.

The bid was sent at the end of last week and it remains to be seen whether PSV will up their offer. However, reports in the Netherlands have suggested that it's impossible for the Dutch side to pay his full price tag.

According to The Athletic, Van den Berg is not desperate to leave Liverpool, he just simply wants guaranteed minutes next season.

NICO WILLIAMS DECIDES AGAINST BARCELONA MOVE

Spain star Nico Williams has opted to remain at Athletic Club for the upcoming season in a decision that could have far-reaching consequences across the transfer market, according to journalist Daniel Sobis

Liverpool had been linked with the Euro 2024 winner but it was Barcelona who were the club who had the most interest.

They were desperate to add the 22-year-old to their attack as he could have paired up with Lamine Yamal, just like he did with Spain.

His decision to stay put though is set to have a chain reaction in the transfer market. That has already taken shape at Barcelona as they are keen to push through a deal for Dani Olmo.

However, the RB Leipzig star isn’t a natural winger meaning Barcelona could dip back into the market for Liverpool forward Luis Diaz following previous links.

MAXIMILIAN BEIER LINKED WITH REDS ONCE AGAIN

Liverpool have been named as one of the clubs reportedly keen on making a move for Hoffenheim forward Maximilian Beier.

That is according to a report from Calciomercato via BILD which states that the Reds are keeping tabs on the 21-year-old.

Beier made his professional debut for Hoffenheim back in 2020 but last season was his breakthrough campaign with the club, even making it into Germany's Euro 2024 squad.

There is more interest in him from the Premier League as supposedly Liverpool's rivals Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are watching him closely.

Beier did have a release clause worth €32.5 million in his contract but that expired at the end of June meaning teams are free to start negotiations with Hoffenheim.
