Liverpool transfer news today: Chiesa signing reaction, Kelleher offer REJECTED

Plenty of reaction as Federico Chiesa became a new Liverpool player yesterday and he may not be the only incoming, as we round-up this morning's transfer news.

Chiesa the 'ultimate' signing

Federico Chiesa is the definition of a Moneyball signing. The 26-year-old was rated as a €100million talent following his exploits at the delayed Euro 2020 tournament.

It had appeared as though Juventus had grabbed themselves a bargain when they had parted with a rumoured €60million to pry him away from Fiorentina.

Yet here we are now in 2024 and Chiesa is on the move for a reported €15million. 

Liverpool are very much buying in the dip.

Gerrard endorses Chiesa

Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has shared his thoughts on the signing of Federico Chiesa after the Reds completed the signing of the Juventus forward yesterday afternoon.

It is not often that a club legend with the calibre of Gerrard declares their views on a new signing before a ball is kicked.

Kelleher Forest bid rejected 

Liverpool have rejected a late Premier League offer for one of their first-team players. The Reds are not looking to sell.

Paul Joyce of The Times claims Liverpool have just rejected a late offer for Caoimhin Kelleher from Nottingham Forest. The Irishman will not leave this late in the window, it seems.

"Liverpool have rejected a bid from Nottingham Forest for Caoimhin Kelleher," writes Joyce. "Offer well below Liverpool’s valuation and the club was not looking to sell."
