The countdown to the summer transfer window is well and truly on and we have all the latest Liverpool transfer news today (Tuesday May 28).

The Reds are already being linked with multiple targets as they look to retool their squad after the departure of Jurgen Klopp and the arrival of Arne Slot.

Ederson emerges as midfield target

Liverpool scouts have taken note of Teun Koopmeiners throughout this season, but it’s been reported that his Atalanta midfield partner Ederson has also emerged as a player of interest for the Anfield side.

The 24-year-old was a star of Atalanta’s Europa League campaign, excelling in the final against Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen last week.

His all-action display won him the plaudits of observers all around the world and his consistency across the season has earned him a place in the Brazil squad for the upcoming Copa America.

As Koopmeiners leans towards Juve, Liverpool are now readying a bid for the former Corinthians man, according to reports in Italy, who is under contract until 2027.

Robinson 'would leave' Fulham if conditions met

Reported Liverpool transfer target Antonee Robinson has responded to rumours linking him with a Fulham exit this summer, with the left-back not entirely ruling out a transfer in the coming months.

The United States international, who was actually born in Milton Keynes, was supposedly in talks with Liverpool in January, although nothing materialised during the winter window.

Robinson was quizzed about his Fulham future by The Athletic, after signing a contract extension with the club in July 2023.

"I signed the deal because I was very happy at Fulham. I want to keep on developing, I’m very settled here, I love the club. It wasn’t a difficult decision to sign," said Robinson.

"Interest from other people is great... Obviously, it comes down to if someone wanted me enough to pay what Fulham would want, and if Fulham saw that as a good idea, then I’d leave."

McCarthy's uncertain Southampton future

Liverpool's wealth could help them secure the signing of Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy on a free transfer this summer after he won promotion back to the Premier League on Sunday.

The Reds have been linked with a move for the 34-year-old in recent weeks as they look for depth in between the sticks, with Adrian expected to leave the club when his contract expires in a month.

Backup stopper Caoimhin Kelleher has also been touted with an Anfield in exit in search of more regular first-team football, with Celtic among the interested parties.

Liverpool will have to add at least one goalkeeper to their squad and it could well be McCarthy, who has enjoyed a strong final month of the season with Southampton having previously been second choice - helping them earn promotion in the Championship play-off final at the weekend.

While not a particularly exciting signing, McCarthy would provide experience and support in the goalkeeping department, while also classing as a homegrown player for squad registration.

Wonderkid ready to snub Liverpool for Bayern move

18-year-old wonderkid Assan Ouedraogo has made his mind up on his future amid transfer interest from Liverpool.

The Schalke midfielder has been hailed for his swift rise into the first team of one of Germany's sleeping giants, making 17 appearances in the second division during an injury-hit campaign.

Liverpool are one of the sides who have been touted with interest in the exciting prospect, as have Merseyside rivals Everton.

However, Ouedraogo, who has been likened to former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso in play style by the Bundesliga's official website, appears set to secure a move across Germany.

As reported by Patrick Strasser and corroborated by Fabrizio Romano, Ouedraogo is the latest German talent to be snapped up by Bayern Munich.
