Liverpool transfer news today: Salah BOMBSHELL announcement as contract SIGNED
Here's your latest Liverpool transfer news.
Mo Salah drops bombshell
Liverpool forward Mo Salah has admitted that zero progress has been made on his Liverpool contract. Talks continue but as things stand, he'll be leaving the club.
"It's the last six months," Salah told Sky Sports. "There is no progress there. We are far away from any progress.
"So, we just need to wait and see."
This came after the Egyptian said, once again, that this is his 'last season at the club'. Anyone hoping for a quick contract announcement will be disappointed.
Because unless there's movement quickly, Salah will be leaving Liverpool.
Samuele Ricci signs contract
Another name on the Anfield shortlist is that of Samuele Ricci, Torino’s 23-year-old Italy international. Ricci enjoyed a breakout 2024, emerging on the transfer radar of AC Milan, Inter Milan and Manchester City among others.
He is a player who has impressed Liverpool staff as revealed by Anfield Watch with the club reportedly encouraged by the fact that his Torino contract only extended until 2026.
Even though his terms only had around two years left to run, Torino valued their midfield prompter at around €60m last summer, but there was potential for that sum to reduce as time ticked by.
Liverpool like Gibbs-White
Morgan Gibbs-White has been one of the stars of the Premier League season. The 24-year-old is the driving force in Nottingham Forest’s midfield, helping Nuno Espirito Santo’s side to second place in the Premier League.
The England international was outstanding at Anfield earlier this term when Forest handed Slot his only defeat as Liverpool head coach and has been described as 'brilliant' and 'creative' by former England interim head coach Lee Carsley.
Now Football Insider claims the Reds have got ‘concrete interest’ in Gibbs-White for January and beyond. Having joined Forest for initial £25m - plus another £17m in add-ons - from Wolves back in 2022, Gibbs-White is under contract until 2027.
Real Madrid's insulting offer
Although Liverpool declined to talk about a transfer, Diario AS claims Madrid were ONLY prepared for ‘a very modest expenditure’ on Trent Alexander-Arnold this month.
The first informal proposal involved a fee of €10 million - less than what Red Bull Salzburg paid for Bobby Clark last summer.
That is an insultingly low effort and one, which according to AS, ‘did not generate the slightest enthusiasm’ at Anfield. Nonetheless, Madrid are reported to be keen on making a SECOND bid for Trent this winter.
Darwin Nunez wanted
Anfield Watch has learned that AC Milan’s recruitment team do indeed like Darwin Nunez but there is little hope of a transfer taking place. For one, Milan simply cannot afford Darwin’s salary. He is estimated to be earning £140,000 per week at Liverpool and on those wages would be Milan’s top earner.
And perhaps most decisively, there is no space for him the squad. Serie A teams are permitted to register two non-EU signings per season.
And after a summer transfer splurge that included Serbian Strahinja Pavlovic and Brazilian Emerson Royal, Milan cannot register another non-EU player this season.
