Liverpool transfer news today: Reds CONFIRM Man City deal as new James Milner FOUND
Here's all your latest Liverpool transfer news.
Liverpool CONFIRM deal to sign Man City wonderkid
Liverpool have completed a deal to sign 16-year-old centre-back Lucas Clarke from Manchester City.
The defender will initially join up with the club's under-16 side according to the LFC Academy Instagram account.
"Delighted to have signed for Liverpool FC," the left-sided stopper wrote on Instagram. "Can’t wait to get started."
It comes as the Reds continue to sign up some of the most promising young talents from around British and Irish academies.
The likes of Ben Doak, James McConnell and Trey Nyoni have moved to Merseyside in recent seasons while hopes are high for another prospect in Rio Ngumoha, who moved to Anfield last summer.
Liverpool accelerate moves to sign the NEXT Lionel Messi
That player is Andrija Maksimovic, a 17 year old Serbian sensation who has been likened to Lionel Messi back in his homeland.
Anfield Watch revealed exclusively that Liverpool are keeping a close eye on Maksimovic and he is someone who the Reds could look to sign in the January transfer window.
According to our sources, the plans would be for Maksimovic to be loaned out before linking up with Liverpool in the summer, when Arne Slot would run the rule on the young talent in pre-season before deciding his fate.
And now the club has stepped up their efforts to sign him.
CONFIRMED: Exciting Liverpool transfer target is ready to leave
Liverpool tried to sign Cesar Huerta last summer and he ready to leave his club in the January transfer window.
This was confirmed by reporter Cesar Luis Merlo who claimed on his YouTube channel that the Mexican winger was very close to signing for Liverpool and that he wanted to be on the move in the January window.
Huerta is actually out of contract in the January window having rejected an offer to renew his current deal, which means Liverpool could have signed him on a free transfer.
Liverpool have FOUND Arne Slot his new James Milner
Girona's Miguel Gutierrez is a player Liverpool reportedly like. The Spaniard is a left-back and one playing an unconventional role against the Reds.
Gutierrez is a left-back. Sort of.
That's principally his position but the Spaniard was everywhere against Liverpool. He started as a left-sided midfielder, in essence, but was covering left-back, watching Dominik Szoboszlai in midfield, pushing up on Trent Alexander-Arnold, and even popping into the centre-forward space.
But that's the kind of player Gutierrez is. Whoscored sums it up well, showing his starting positions this season as 13 at left-back, five in a left wingback/midfield role, and then three more dotted around in various centre-midfield roles.
And that has us thinking of James Milner, which we like to do.
