Liverpool have officially announced the signing of Giorgi Mamardashvili for a reported fee of €35 million from Valencia, where he will remain for the rest of the season.

It was reported yesterday that the 23-year-old had undergone a medical in Valencia, where he is set to remain on loan for the rest of the season.

Liverpool’s interest in Mamardahvili dates back to the start of the window and the negotiations over his price and potential loan destination have not been easy.

For a while it looked as though he would join Premier League club Bournemouth on loan for the season if Liverpool completed his signing but that is no longer the plan, and Mamardashvili will remain in Valencia before.

Liverpool have been handed a boost in their pursuit for Federico Chiesa as Juventus have announced the signing of Francisco Conceicao.

The Portuguese's arrival in Turin may pave the way for Chiesa to depart Juventus before Friday's deadline with Liverpool having declared their interest in the 26 year-old.

Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes said earlier this summer that the club would be "opportunistic if we can" when it came to making signings and this could be one of the opportunities the Anfield side may pounce on.

Chiesa is understood to be interested in a move to the Premier League and has given the Reds his full availability to move to Merseyside, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Shock new destination for Trent

Rumours of a potential Liverpool exit for Trent Alexander-Arnold continue to circulate as the defender enters his final year of his current contract.

Alexander-Arnold is one of numerous big stars who are in their final year of their current deals at Anfield with Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah also yet to renew contracts.

The 25 year-old has sparked a lot of interest from Real Madrid over the summer with fears mounting that the defender could join the European champions on a free transfer in 2025.

But Carlo Ancelotti's side aren't the only side among Europe's elite reportedly interested in the full-back, with Bayern Munich now being mentioned as a possible destination by a new report in Caught Offside.

Romano reveals Bajcetic destination

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed the destination for Liverpool startlet Stefan Bajectic as he prepares to go on loan.

Bajcetic, burst onto the scene under Jurgen Klopp in the 2022/23 campaign, looked to be a mainstay in Liverpool's midfield for years to come, but he has had an injury-stricken last twelve months making him surplus to requirements.

The Spaniard has been left out of both Arne Slot's matchday squads and was one of eight to be deemed unavailable for the U21s side 2-1 defeat against Leicester.

According to Romano, Red Bull Salzburg are in the lead to sign the midfielder on a season-long loan.

Crystal Palace lead Gomez race

Crystal Palace are in pole position to land Liverpool defender Joe Gomez before Friday’s transfer deadline according to a new report.

Anfield Watch revealed four months ago that Gomez was open to leaving the club this summer in search of a new challenge.

Although the 27-year-old wouldn’t agitate for a move, he wanted the club to consider any serious offers for his services.

There was plenty of Premier League interest reported with Palace, Newcastle, Brentford, West Ham and Aston Villa all mentioned as potential destinations with the player’s preference being a move towards London, his hometown.

Saudi Arabian clubs also had Gomez on their radar as the SPL sought to reduce the average age of their marquee players entering the league.

The 21-year-old has flourished in recent seasons securing first-team game time at Championship sides Blackburn Rovers and Hull City.

But now the Englishman is attracting attention from clubs in Europe.

Bayer Leverkusen want to take the player on loan. However, Liverpool would have preferred a sale and valued him at around £20million. Fellow German club RB Leipzig and Italian side Atalanta were interested earlier in the window.
