Here is the latest Liverpool FC transfer news, with the Reds expecting a sizeable bid for first-choice goalkeeper Alisson and a new centre-back name thrown into the mix.

LIVERPOOL BRACED FOR 'JAW-DROPPING' ALISSON OFFER

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker is set to soon receive a “jaw-dropping” offer from one of the top clubs in Saudi Arabia.

That’s according to a new report in Football Insider, which claims efforts are intensifying in the Saudi Pro League to strike a deal for the Reds No. 1.

The report also adds that Liverpool have no intention of cashing in on the 31-year-old but are worried about the prospect of Alisson having his head turned.

Ederson of Manchester City is another high-profile goalkeeper being targeted for a role in the SPL next season.

Alisson is under contract until 2027 at Anfield and earns around £210,000 per week.

MOHAMED SIMAKAN UNDER CONSIDERATION

Liverpool have a new defender in their sights according to Fabrizio Romano, who has claimed that RB Leipzig centre-back Mohamed Simakan is admired by the Reds.

The Frenchman, 24, can play at both centre-back and right-back. He’s started exactly 100 games across Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga through his career so far, making him both experienced and young enough to kick-on further.

Romano says Liverpool are impressed and that Simakan is a player they’ve followed for a while now.

"It is a rumour we have today from Germany. What I can tell you is that Liverpool – people in charge, people in the board at Liverpool – have been tracking and know Mo Simakan very well," he said on his YouTube channel.

"They have been following the player and believe he is a very talented defender.

"At the moment, there are no concrete negotiations between the agents of Simakan and Liverpool or Liverpool and Leipzig, so this is the situation. But I can confirm this is one of many centre-backs they have been tracking."

ARTHUR MELO COULD MAKE MERSEYSIDE RETURN

Liverpool's worst signing of the Jurgen Klopp era could be about to return to Merseyside, with rivals Everton preparing an offer for Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo.

Arthur joined Liverpool on loan for the 2022/23 season in what turned out to be an awful panic deal on deadline day.

The injury-prone Brazilian was on the fringes of the Juventus squad but the Reds signed him to help bolster a midfield that was already lacking options.

However, it proved a catastrophic piece of business for Jurgen Klopp's side, with Arthur turning out for a grand total of 13 minutes in a Liverpool shirt.

According to Brazilian outlet UOL, Arthur is no longer in Juventus' plans despite the arrival of new head coach Thiago Motta this summer.

As a result, the Old Lady are happy to part ways with the midfielder, and Everton 'will soon make an official offer' for the former Liverpool man who impressed on loan at Fiorentina last season.

LIVERPOOL MUST PAY FULL RELEASE CLAUSE FOR GONCALO INACIO

O Jogo in Portugal claims Liverpool will struggle to sign Goncalo Inacio and will need to pay his full £50m release clause this summer.

The young Sporting defender is one of the brightest young talents around, having been a key player in their title win last season at just 22.

But the Reds won't have it easy to get Inacio. Sporting don’t want to sell and would demand his full release clause this summer.

Instead, they’re more open to negotiations around Ousmane Diomande - another impressive young defender at the club. Liverpool have been linked with him, too, though not for a few months now.

MICHAEL OWEN WANTS JARROD BOWEN AT ANFIELD

Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen has named Jarrod Bowen as the player he would love the Reds to sign this summer should one of their star forwards leave the club.

Liverpool have been linked with bolstering their forward line in the current transfer window despite the fact that they have some impressive options in the final third.

However, there have been plenty of reports suggesting that Liverpool may lose one of their attackers this summer - most probably Luis Diaz.

Of course, while almost certain to stay for the 2024/25 season, Salah's contract also expires next summer.

Speaking with Prime Casino, Owen revealed that West Ham United winger Jarrod Bowen would be his ideal replacement for any of Liverpool's departing forwards.

"The Mo Salah chat has sort of faded a little bit so I'd be surprised if he left Liverpool, but the problem for the club is that he hasn’t got long left on his contract so you have to make a decision one way or the other," said the Ballon d'Or winner.

"They have great options at the moment with Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez, but if one of them left then Jarrod Bowen would be my favourite."
