Liverpool Transfer News: £178k-a-week Reds target tipped for summer exit

Liverpool may have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Juventus star Federico Chiesa, with the attacker tipped to leave Turin this summer.

The Reds are expected to reinforce their attacking options this summer and have been touted with interest in Chiesa over the past few transfer windows.

The exciting Italian hasn't had the easiest of times at Juventus since leaving Fiorentina in 2020 and has just eight goals and two assists to his name in all competitions this season.

However, his patchy form hasn't stopped the 26-year-old being linked with Anfield, and he could be set for a Juventus exit in the coming transfer window.

LIVERPOOL HANDED FEDERICO CHIESA TRANSFER BOOST

According to Gazzetta, Juventus are incredibly keen on renewing Chiesa's contract, which expires in 2025, but the winger may push for a move away from the club if Max Allegri is still in charge for the 2024/25 campaign.

Allegri and Chiesa have a problematic relationship and the 45-cap Italy international has not enjoyed playing under the experienced coach over the years.

Therefore, if Allegri is not replaced before the new season, Chiesa is likely to try and find a new club.

However, Juventus don't want to lose Chiesa for free in 2025 and are willing to let the forward go this summer if a deal cannot be reached.

That's where Liverpool could step in if they hold genuine interest in the Juventus man, although a deal looks unlikely as things stand.

With Arne Slot looking likely to succeed Jurgen Klopp this summer, the Reds' transfer business remains uncertain until a managerial appointment is finalised.

The Dutch coach does play with traditional wingers - favouring a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 formation - and it could be an area that he targets in the transfer market should he get the job.

However, it appears unlikely that Chiesa will be too high on Liverpool's summer wishlist.
