Liverpool 'closely monitoring' €60m LaLiga star ahead of summer bid
Liverpool are “closely monitoring” a LaLiga star to replace Mohamed Salah in the summer transfer window. The Egyptian King, 32, is out of contract at the end of the season and sooner or later the Reds are going to have to make a decision on a successor.
There remains a possibility that Salah renews his contract - provided that obstacles over duration and salary can be overcome - and he could extend his stay on Merseyside.

However, given that he will turn 33 before the start of next season, Liverpool will likely have to replace the all-time club legend in the next season or two.

Rodrygo from Real Madrid is the latest name in the frame and another Spanish top-flight winger has now been associated with an Anfield move.
Liverpool tracking Kubo
Real Sociedad wide man Takefusa Kubo has long been linked with Liverpool and he has again been named as a potential target in a report from El Nacional.
Kubo, 23, has scored five LaLiga goals from 19 starts this season and looks set for the next step in his career.
Under contract until 2029, the Japan international is reported to have a €60 million release clause in his contract - making him an attractive prospect for any potential buyers.
He’s gone from strength to strength since arriving in San Sebastian from Real Madrid in 2022 and it’s not only Liverpool who have been credited with interest.
The report mentions Atletico Madrid as being interested with continuing uncertainty over their own star forward Antoine Griezmann. Should the Frenchman decide to leave the club this summer then Diego Simeone’s side are ready to execute a transfer.
Atletico and Aston Villa in the frame
“His buyout clause is around €60 million, but the Atlético Madrid team is confident they can lower that figure through negotiations or by including players in the deal,” the report states.
Aston Villa are also mentioned as potential suitors for Kubo, having featured for Unai Emery while on loan at Villarreal.
“Despite being happy in San Sebastián, he knows his current form has caught the attention of major clubs and that he's in an ideal position to make the jump to a project with greater European ambitions,” the report reads.

“In the coming weeks, contacts between clubs are expected to intensify, and the possibility of Atlético Madrid formally making a concrete offer has not been ruled out.”
