Liverpool look likely to face competition from Tottenham for the England under-19 international, another club who have been hoovering up the young talents from around Britain and Ireland in recent seasons.

Tottenham launch bid for Chris Rigg
That’s because Fichajes is claiming that Spurs have lodged a €45m (£37m) bid for the Sunderland midfielder, who scored on his England U19 debut against Portugal this week.
Liverpool have long been linked with Rigg but now competition appears to be hotting up for the 17-year-old prodigy. A tenacious left-footed midfield player, Rigg has been described as a complete all-rounder with a maturity beyond his years.

"He’s got a wonderful left foot. He looks like someone who is going to play with that silkiness, with the passing on his left foot, and he looks to have that tiger in him as well. He wants to tackle everyone. It’s not a bad mix for a midfielder,” said former Sunderland manager Tony Mowbray to the BBC about Rigg following his first-team debut.
Tipped as an England first-team star of the future, Rigg has already played for the Black Cats on 55 occasions, spearheading their Championship promotion campaign this term.

Liverpool are going to have to dig deep to ensure Rigg moves to Anfield rather than to North London this summer but there is also a danger that West Ham and Manchester United make a move.
