Liverpool transfer news: SURPRISE verdict on Arne Slot’s new striker
Liverpool are in the market for a centre-forward. But who should Richard Hughes sign for Arne Slot?
Liverpool are, by all accounts, looking at forwards they could sign for Arne Slot. After all, Slot is yet to see any forwards arrive on his watch other than Federico Chiesa.

The Italian was a chance taken, however, rather than a solid option with a true plan. Chiesa was simply made available for a low price - and Liverpool felt they should pounce.
But there is plenty of talk that, in particular, the Reds want to bring in a centre-forward. They've been linked with several and two really stand out.
Omar Marmoush and Viktor Gyokeres are two of the most in-form strikers on the planet right now.
Marmoush boasts 13 goals and seven assists in 13 Bundesliga appearances this season. Gyokeres has 17 goals and one assist in his 13 Liga Portugal fixtures.
We've been incredibly impressed with Marmoush, who has been strongly linked with Liverpool in recent weeks. But we're also very impressed with Gyokeres, also linked with a move to Anfield.
So who do the fans want?
Omar Marmoush vs Viktor Gyokeres
We asked Liverpool fans on Twitter who they'd prefer to see arrive in the near future. Just the pair of options here, so a straight fight between two of Europe's best.
12 thousand of you responded, and the results were surprising, we think.
Essentially, the fans are split. Gyokeres shades the vote with 53 per cent but there's very little splitting the pair.
Perhaps that's because of all the talk around Gyokeres? He also had a phenomenal campaign last time out and more fans know of him.
At the same time, Marmoush plays in a stronger league. We'd have guessed that would swing things but not quite, it seems.
It's also worth mentioning that they're two very different types of strikers. The increased desire to sign Gyokeres could point to fans wanting a more traditional type of centre-forward.
We'll see what Liverpool eventually do but honestly, it appears they can't make a 'wrong' choice here.
