The Reds may have obliterated their Premier League opposition this season but there are still ways they can improve and become even better.

Despite scoring the most goals (75) and amassing the highest xG (72.77) by far in the league, Liverpool are still lacking a prolific no.9.

The Darwin Nunez era, which started to brightly has flickered out of existence. It's now a failed experiment which will see the Uruguayan depart this summer.

There will be plenty of candidates lining up to replace him.

Anfield Watch revealed exclusively that Julian Alvarez is someone the Reds would be willing to sign and break their club record for. We also exclusively revealed that Liverpool have held preliminary talks with the agent of Hugo Ekitike.

Other options for Liverpool include Alexander Isak, although he will be difficult to get as well as Victor Osimhen, Jonathan David, Liam Delap and Viktor Gyokeres.

But they might not be the only names.

In fact Liverpool have been told they should be looking at someone else instead. That someone else is Serhou Guirassy.

He's currently the top-goalscorer in the Champions League and has netted 29 goals and registered eight assists for Borussia Dortmund this season.

The Guinean international seems like a prolific forward and former Liverpool star and his fellow countryman Titi Camara has given the Reds a huge endorsement encouraging Hughes to make a move for Guirassy.

Speaking to Africa Foot, Camara described Guirassy as 'one of the best strikers playing in Europe.'

Before adding that he is a striker with 'many qualities.'

"First, he's very effective, especially in the box. He's scoring, of course, but also setting up others to score. He has seven assists in all competitions (three in the Bundesliga and four in the Champions League). This means that while he's very drawn to goal, he also knows how to be selfless and therefore make the right choices," Camara said.

Later he added:

"Technically, he's good, he's powerful, his runs are intelligent. And what's more, he's a humble player, with character and a good mentality, very demanding of himself. You can see that he works hard."

During the interview, Camara was also asked about the next destination for Guirassy and the former Liverpool forward tipped him to join the Premier League and sign for the Reds.

"In England, there are clubs that don't have strikers with his profile, that is, a pure centre forward," Camara said.

"Are we talking about Chelsea? I'm not convinced. There's already a plethora of players. Manchester United? The club isn't having a good season, except in the Europa League, which it will have to win if it wants to play in the 2025/26 Champions League.

"And we sense that there is a certain nervousness among the Red Devils. Arsenal? It's an interesting option, but I would see him at Liverpool. It's not a choice of the heart but a sporting reflection."

Having turned 29-years-old, it's difficult to see Liverpool making a move for Guirassy but he is definitely one of the most prolific strikers in Europe at the moment.

Liverpool have gone beyond their typical model to offer new deals to Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk so maybe a move for Guirassy is not out of the question.

At his age, he's about to enter his prime and he's the proven article - not a project like Nunez was.

He's also a bit of a late bloomer. Up until he was 24 years old, he had only made 107 league appearances. Considering Jude Bellingham who is only 21-years-old and has 187 league appearances under his belt, Guirassy's numbers are very low.

That means he may have a lot more longevity left in him. Perhaps he can continue at this level for several years to come until he's 34 or 35 years old. At which point Liverpool would have got at least five or six years out of him at the peak of his powers.

That's why Camara's suggestion should not go under the radar. Guirassy could be a genuinely smart option for Liverpool.
