Liverpool have accelerated their pursuit of Juventus star Federico Chiesa after scouting the winger during the Coppa Italia final, according to a report.

It promises to be a summer of change for Liverpool as Arne Slot replaces Jurgen Klopp at Anfield, with the likes of Michael Edwards and Julian Ward having returned behind the scenes.

Those changes are likely to have a significant impact on Liverpool's transfer plans in the summer window, but the club are expected to pursue an attacker of some description regardless - most likely a wide forward or winger.

Plenty of attackers have been touted with Anfield switches as a result, including West Ham's Mohammed Kudus and Wolves' Pedro Neto.

One of those that has been linked with a Liverpool move on and off for several years now is Chiesa of Juventus, with the Reds reportedly keen on reviving their interest in the Euro 2020 winner.

LIVERPOOL SCOUT £51M FEDERICO CHIESA

According to a report from Tutto Juve, Liverpool scouted Chiesa during Juventus' recent 1-0 Coppa Italia final triumph over Atalanta, with the 26-year-old featuring for 69 minutes before being substituted.

Liverpool have reportedly 'stepped up their interest' in the versatile forward amid uncertainty over his contract situation in Turin, with Chiesa having provided seven goals and two assists in 31 Serie A games this season.

Juventus are supposedly keen on renewing Chiesa's deal - which expires in 2025 - but have been unsuccessful in negotiations so far.

It was previously reported that the winger would look for an exit this summer should Massimiliano Allegri stay on as the club's head coach, but he was sacked shortly after Juventus' win in the Coppa Italia final.

However, the Old Lady may be willing to part ways with Chiesa should an offer of approximately €60m (£51m) be made in the coming months - a fee unlikely to be paid by Liverpool.

With his contract running down though, Liverpool may be able to prey upon the uncertainty surrounding his Juventus future.
