And the links to current Liverpool stars don’t stop either; Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Alisson Becker are among the regulars who have been linked with money-spinning moves to the Middle East in the upcoming transfer window.

Happily, it looks like Saudi dreams of landing Mohamed Salah will have to wait however with the Egyptian King putting pen to paper on a new Reds contract extension.

But Saudi clubs are not only offering to take Liverpool’s players off their hands, they are also presenting a menace in the transfer market.

Since the rapid PIF cash injection into Saudi football, the SPL’s top clubs are able to go toe to toe for young, emerging talent and not only established names.

Players such as Jhon Duran and Gabi Veiga have been attracted by the superstar salaries on offer and Saudi clubs won’t stop there.

Liverpool admire Matheus Cunha

In fact, according to Sky Sports, Saudi Arabia’s top clubs are rivalling the Reds and Manchester United for Wolves striking sensation Matheus Cunha.

The 25-year-old has got a release clause in his contract, which stretches until 2029. The Brazil No9 is widely expected to leave Molineux this summer and it had been speculated that he would remain in the Premier League.

Liverpool had been linked with a move to Ruben Amorim’s Man Utd would also appear to make sense. But Saudi plans could DERAIL the Reds' attempt to sign the striking upgrade they require.

Saudi clubs ready to trigger Cunha clause

“Clubs in Saudi Arabia are ready to trigger the £64m release clause in the contract of Matheus Cunha.” says a post on X account Transfer News Live, citing a Sky Sports report.

“They will go head-to-head with Manchester United and a number of PL clubs for his signature.”

If it comes down to wages alone, then Liverpool and Man Utd can forget about Cunha. But if he would like to build a legacy at one of the best clubs in the world, then Liverpool should surely be his top consideration.

Cunha has got 14 Premier League goals to his name this season - and four assists - and looks like he would be a good fit for Arne Slot, who is a confirmed fan of the player.
