Liverpool will brace for a massive bid coming from Saudi Arabia tonight. The Pro League is throwing money around.

It's that time of year once again. The transfer window is to close shortly in Saudi Arabia and they're making a series of last-gasp mega-bids for players.

Jhon Duran is the headline, of course. He's heading to Al-Nassr (or expected to at the time of writing) in a £70m deal with Aston Villa.

But he's not the only one. Al-Nassr also bid for Kaoru Mitoma on Thursday night. Per the Athletic, they offered Brighton £65m - but the Seagulls rejected it.

Another bid is expected, though.

And it's not just Al-Nassr. Al-Ahli have also put some money out there, letting Villarreal know that they're willing to pay Alex Baena's release clause. It's now up to the player whether he moves or not.

While this is all very interesting, there's one major Saudi side who hasn't moved yet. And they surely will.

Liverpool, brace yourselves.

Al-Hilal eye Liverpool stars

The Saudi Pro League transfer window closes early. It's set to slam shut on January 31st, as opposed to February 3rd for the major European leagues.

That's why there's a sudden hurry to get deals done. And Al-Hilal are a major one, given they'll be competing in the FIFA Club World Cup later this year.

On top of that, they've just let Neymar leave early. There's a gaping superstar-sized hole in their squad and Al-Hilal will want to fill it ahead of that tournament.

Thus Liverpool should brace themselves here. Fabrizio Romano has confirmed interest from Saudi Arabia in both Mo Salah and Darwin Nunez.

We believe that interest comes from Al-Hilal. Anfield Watch exclusively revealed a rejected offer from the champions for Nunez, while there are widely reported claims that Salah tops their shortlist.

So as the crazy offers continue, Liverpool have a pair who could very well be subject to them. Deals would need to be done now before the end of the season if they're to play at the CWC - Salah's contract won't even expire until it's underway.

This is all one to watch, then. Liverpool will be bracing themselves as there could be some incredibly difficult decisions to make before the week is out.
