Liverpool will fall APART if they don't get Salah, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold renewals

Liverpool are facing a triple contract blow at the end of the season. Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all out of contract in summer 2025 and no breakthrough has yet been reached in conversations over a new deal.

It’s a less-than-ideal scenario for head coach Arne Slot and sporting director Richard Hughes, who described it as his season’s priority to get those contracts sorted.

All three have been entitled to speak to potentially interested overseas clubs since January 1 and the links to new teams have been relentless.

Liverpool NEED Van Dijk, Salah and Trent

Van Dijk is the subject of a mammoth €100 million contract offer from Paris Saint-Germain while Al Hilal are also known to be keen.

The same side have been heavily associated with a move for Salah but the trail appears to have gone cold with the Saudi giants for the time being.

Trent, meanwhile, could be set for a huge contract at Real Madrid - that is unless Los Blancos are put off by his injury record this season.

Liverpool wouldn’t just be losing their captain, top scorer and most-recognisable homegrown player, they would be losing the three players who are most integral to how the team currently plays under Arne Slot.

Looking at the “Open Play Buildup” map from Hudl Statsbomb for the 2024/25 Premier League season it’s evident that Liverpool’s “most commonly played passes” heavily involve the players in Van Dijk, Salah and Trent’s positions.

Tie them down NOW

The short pass from the left-sided centre-back to the right-back position, the pass from right-back into midfield and the pass from the right wing into the penalty box ALL show how integral Van Dijk, Salah and Alexander-Arnold have been for Arne Slot.

The Dutchman has transformed Liverpool’s form - turning them into champions-elect - but he’s had to rely on the same players to do so.

As seen in the graphics above if FSG and Hughes don’t get the three superstars to renew it spells DISASTER for Slot and his side. Liverpool desperately need clarity on the summer contract situation before it’s too late.
