Liverpool transfer news roundup: Salah Saudi shut down, Lavia latest, Andre plan
It's Wednesday and the Liverpool transfer rumours just keep on coming. Get your fill.
Mohamed Salah is '100% open' to a move to Saudi Arabia (gasp) but not this summer (phew). That's according to Egyptian journalist Ismael Mahmoud, who claims a deal might be possible next year.
However, Salah's agent Ramy Abbas was quick to dismiss even that tepid rumour as fake news on Twitter, writing: "Neither Mohamed nor I discussed this with anyone."
Meanwhile, Steven Gerrard has said he doesn't want Salah in the Saudi Pro League, as he prefers to see the forward winning trophies for Liverpool. Didn't stop him taking Henderson though. Read the full story here.
On to Romeo Lavia then. The 19-year-old posted a picture of himself training for Southampton on Tuesday with the caption 'good vibes this morning', after reports that he skipped the session. Read into that what you will.
In the end, Lavia did not feature in Southampton's Tuesday night EFL Cup defeat to Gillingham...
According to Sacha Tavolieri, Lavia's camp are still desperate to make a transfer to Liverpool happen this summer, despite the three failed bids.
Meanwhile, the Express' Ryan Taylor claims the Reds aren't particularly worried about a hijack from Chelsea or another club.
To that end, the Guardian claim Chelsea will put in a new bid for number one target Moises Caicedo this week.
And finally, Brazilian outlet Netflu claim that Liverpool will turn their attention to Andre Trindade in the coming days with the Fluminense midfielder set to become 'plan A' for the Reds.
However, Fluminense won their Copa Libertadores last 16 tie against Argentinos Juniors, making a summer deal less likely.
