Trent Alexander-Arnold and Real Madrid are two names that have been interlocked for a number of months now.
With his Liverpool contract set to expire at the end of the season, it has been all hands on deck to tie him down to an extension.
However, no breakthrough has been made as of yet, and while the English media remains defiant that discussions are still ongoing with Liverpool, the Spanish media is incessant that he will join Real Madrid and that the move is all but missing the final touches.
As such Liverpool fans are beyond stressed with the situation that is unfortunately unfolding while the club is in the midst of a title charge under Arne Slot. At a time when the focus needs to be firmly on footballing matters on the pitch, an enormous distraction is overshadowing the team.

Sadly, his time so far on Merseyside has been hindered by injuries, and reports are already suggesting that Chiesa might have made a mistake in joining Liverpool.

Since then, the news went silent around his name. But now, Argentinian outlet Soy Del Millo have issued an update on the situation.

If injuries have taught Arne Slot anything this season, it’s that Liverpool need a new centre-back.
The last time the Reds signed one for the first team was in 2021, when Ibrahima Konate joined. Since then, Joel Matip has left and Liverpool have promoted from within, with Jarell Quansah the most recent backup option to make a mark.
In that time, Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams have also featured in a defence that is built around Virgil van Dijk.
While Anfield Watch understands that Van Dijk is going to renew his contract at Liverpool, he will be 34 this year and Sporting Director Richard Hughes is looking for new options to freshen up the defence.

Liverpool are known for the impressive stature of their academy and bring young players into the professional game.
There is a clear pathway for players to develop and either start their career on the front foot at Liverpool in the senior setup or elsewhere on the back of the platform that the club has given them.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, Jarell Quansah, Conor Bradley and Caoimhin Kelleher all started out in Liverpool's academy and managed to break through. Likewise, Rio Ngumoha, Trey Nyoni, Jayden Danns and Ben Doak are all banging on the door either in the youth setup or out on loan, showcasing what they are capable of before Arne Slot and the club make a decision on their future.
As such, Liverpool has become a club that is highly regarded when it comes to developing players and a new young talent has been linked with the club about a possible move following a bright start to his breakout into professional football.
