Liverpool transfer news roundup: Mbappe demands, Diaz offer, Andre latest
Welcome to another international break dead-zone.
While club football may have been halted for a couple of weeks, the rumour train is an unstoppable force that will only gain speed as we head towards January. All aboard!
Are any of the following rumours credible? Will any of today's linked players ever actually end up playing for Liverpool? Does any of it matter?!
These questions and more are not answered below, but dig into the latest hot goss anyway as Kylian Mbappe is touted again, a Wolves star is linked and there are yet more Andre updates.
Who needs actual football to watch?
Kylian Mbappe
At this point I feel morally obligated to insist that there is almost no chance Kylian Mbappe will sign for Liverpool. Here's why.
However, in spite of that, AS are the latest to claim that the Reds have put up an 'important' offer for the speedy France forward, with Real Madrid put off by his (enormous) wage demands.
Luis Diaz
Liverpool are 'expecting' an offer from Barcelona for winger Luis Diaz, says Argentine journalist Christian Martin (no, me neither).
Supposedly the Colombian is interested in the move to Catalonia and Barça could offer up Frenkie de Jong as a deal sweetener. It's unlikely to say the least.
Andre Trindade
When does a transfer story become a 'saga'?
I feel we're heading for that territory now as Spurs and Manchester United have joined the race for Andre Trindade of Fluminense.
According to 90min, both clubs would need to sell before securing a January deal for the player the Reds enquired about during the summer.
Rayan Ait-Nouri
French outlet Le10sport claim that Liverpool are 'keen' on Wolves' wing back Rayan Ait-Nouri.However, Gary O'Neil's side will 'block' any move for the Algeria international in January. Darn.
Leroy Sane
Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund has told told SportBILD that reports of abandoned contract talks with Liverpool-linked Leroy Sane are fake news and that the German champs intend to build the team around the former Man City winger.
Well there goes that dream then.
Joao Neves
Benfica's 19-year-old midfielder (and man with the most Portuguese name of all time) Joao Neves was one of three players watched by Liverpool in the dramatic 2-1 win over Sporting CP at the weekend, according to 90min.
The other two being looked at by the Reds' scouts were defenders Goncalo Inacio and Antonio Silva.
Archie Gray
Leeds are determined not to sell teenage midfield star Archie Gray, according to 90min again.
Last week it was reported that Liverpool were ready to make an offer for the £40m-rated (game's gone) 17-year-old, who only made his senior debut this season.
Gabriel Moscardo
Ready to move on from Andre to another young Brazilian? Well, Liverpool are supposedly among a host of clubs interested in Corinthians' midfielder Gabriel Moscardo.
That's what the Evening Standard say anyway, with Chelsea and Arsenal also in the mix for the 18-year-old who is valued at around £26m.
Thiago Alcantara
And finally, Liverpool's perma-crocked playmaker Thiago Alcantara is of interest to Serie A heavyweights Inter and Juventus, according to Tuttojuve.
However, the 32-year-old's wage demands are seen as 'scary'.
Wait until they see his injury record...
