Liverpool transfer news roundup: Mbappe offer, Osimhen agreement, Andre competition
The international break is over. The Merseyside derby is almost upon us!
But wait... what's that catching your eye and distracting you from real, actual football? ...Oh yes, it's more transfer rumours.
Here's your roundup of all the latest (and maddest) Liverpool transfer gossip.
Kylian Mbappe
Let's start with the biggie, shall we? Gazzetta dello Sport say Liverpool are ready to make a huge contract offer to PSG for none other than Kylian Mbappe this January to convince him of a move with his deal in France ending next summer.
It's certainly exciting, but, let's all be honest: not happening.
Jamal Musiala
Earlier this week it was reported that Liverpool were interested in Bayern Munich wonderkid Jamal Musiala as his contract talks in Bavaria have stalled.
TZ say, however, that the young attacking midfielder is not especially interested in a switch to Merseyside and wants to win more trophies with Bayern. Booo....Victor Osimhen
There's also an update on the revelation that the Reds could be in the race for Napoli superstar Victor Osimhen. Valter De Maggio claims that Liverpool and Osimhen have already 'reached an agreement' over a deal, after the Reds hijacked the striker's contract talks in Naples.
Meanwhile, Calciomercato say Napoli can expect to get €100m (£87m) for Osimhen's sale, with the former Lille man's contract up in 2025.
Andre Trindade
Arsenal are in the race for Liverpool target Andre Trindade, according to 90min.
The Reds enquired about the 22-year-old during the summer but were knocked back by his club Fluminense, who preferred to wait for a winter sale.
The report says the Gunners' transfer chief Edu has been on a scouting mission in his homeland and is keen on Andre for midfield cover.
Kaoru Mitoma
Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma has signed a new contract at the Amex Stadium, turning down interest from Liverpool and other suitors in the process. That's the claim from London World, anyway.
Remember: Alexis Mac Allister signed a new deal before leaving Brighton for Anfield a few months later anyway...
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
And finally, former Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has revealed to the Athletic that he didn't know he would be released at the end of last season, and received no official communication from the club during his final months.
The injury-hit star is now at Turkish giants Besiktas.
