Liverpool transfer news roundup: Lavia 'movement', Schuurs latest, Phillips interest

It's Thursday and I've got Liverpool transfer rumours, lots of them. Let's go...

Hard to remember the last time I went a day without writing the name Romeo Lavia. The Southampton manager admitted there 'needs to be movement' in his squad, after the Belgian was left out of the EFL Cup defeat to Gillingham, BBC Radio Solent.

Sacha Tavolieri claims that Liverpool will pay the extra £5m to meet the Saints' £50m valuation and get the transfer over the line (so we can all move on with our lives).

Liverpool's other midfield target Andre Trindade now seems further away than ever after his side Fluminense progressed to the Copa Libertadores last eight. Read more on that here.

The Reds seem set to start the new season with only two new signings, then. Club captain Virgil van Dijk has said he understands concerns over the need for more transfer activity. Read more on that here.

Elsewhere, the Reds remain 'at the window' (not in a Peeping Tom way) for €40m-rated Torino centre back Perr Schuurs, according to Calciomercato.

Keito Nakamura refused a move to Liverpool from LASK in Austria this summer because he didn't want to be loaned back out, claims journalist Mohamed Tounache-ter.

Meanwhile, ex-Red Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has agreed terms with Besiktas and is set for a medical with the Turkish club, according to Paul Joyce of the Times.

Neil Jones claims that there are several options open to Nat Phillips, with clubs in the Championship, as well as Germany and Netherlands, interested in the defender.

And finally, World Cup winner Marcel Desailly told BoyleSports that he wanted to join Liverpool way back in 1998 but his wife convinced him of a move to Chelsea instead. Any chance he can do a job at DM this weekend?
