Liverpool transfer news roundup: Caicedo on the radar, Thiago linked with Saudi, Dewsbury-Hall latest

With just two days before Liverpool start their Premier League campaign, it seems we're still no closer to making our third summer signing. But that hasn't stopped the rumours from circulating. Here's your roundup of the latest Liverpool transfer news...

Unsurprisingly, the Roméo Lavia saga has taken another twist as Chelsea's bid for the 19-year-old Belgian was rejected by Southampton. They're really not budging on that £50-million valuation, are they?

Meanwhile, the Reds could be trying to do some hijacking of their own as they "made contact" with Brighton & Hove Albion over the potential signing of long-term Chelsea target Moisés Caicedo.

The Telegraph has gone as far as saying that a bid has already been made. The Athletic's James Pearce disagrees.

And just as Jürgen Klopp desperately awaits reinforcements for his midfield, Thiago Alcântara is being linked again with a move away, this time to join Roberto Firmino in Saudi Arabia at Al-Ahli.

Fabrizio Romano, however, believes the Spaniard will stay. And it's a good job, too, because Leicester City have no interest in selling their star midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall - as per The Guardian.

Elsewhere, the Reds' centre-back pursuit (remember that?) took an interesting turn with indykaila linking Crystal Palace's Joachim Anderson. Yes, really...

The same source suggests that Nat Phillips is finally set to complete his move to Leeds United. This sounds more likely.

And finally, LASK winger Keito Nakamura has completed a move to Stade de Reims after reportedly turning down an offer to join Liverpool. French reporter Mohamed Toubache-Ter says the Japanese didn't like the sound of being sent out on loan.
