It's Wednesday and there is officially less than one month left before the transfer window closes. Cram in all the Liverpool transfer gossip while you can...

Starting with Romeo Lavia then (are you as sick of this as I am?) and Sky Sports' Melissa Reddy was among those to report that Liverpool's second bid for the Southampton midfielder was rejected on Tuesday.

Paul Joyce claims the new bid totalled £41m, including add-ons, while Southampton want (as I think we all know by this point) £50m. Weirdly, the Daily Record says Southampton are confident of getting 'in excess of £60m' for Lavia...

Meanwhile, Reddy adds that the Reds are already working on back-up targets, with contact made for Andre Trindade of Fluminense, who is keen on the move.

However, Globe Esporte in Brazil says Fluminense will only sell now if the buyer accepts to delay the move until January when the domestic season finishes.

Jurgen Klopp has said it's no secret the club are looking for new arrivals, but added that Curtis Jones can 'absolutely' play in the number six role if need be. Let's hope need not be...

Over in Spain, Real Madrid are keeping tabs on newly appointed vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold as they seek a long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal, say Fichajes. No, gracias.

Elsewhere, Liverpool and Leicester are set for a tribunal to decide a fee for academy prospect Trey Nyoni, according to TheSecretScout, who first broke the story of the Reds interest in the 16-year-old midfielder.

League One Oxford United are in talks with Liverpool over a move for 19-year-old academy forward Max Woltman, say the Echo.

And finally, Liverpool legend Sadio Mane has told Sky Germany that leaving Bayern 'hurts' as he closes in on a move to Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia.
