Liverpool 'seek to sign' £70m attacker with Richard Hughes seal of approval
Liverpool have been tipped to conduct a summer assault on the transfer market once the window opens in June.
Despite Arne Slot’s side picking up the Premier League title, several first-team stars look set to be surplus to requirements at Anfield.

We could see Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez depart for example while question marks also exist over Federico Chiesa and Luis Diaz.

If a spate of Slot’s attacking options are sacrificed then it would require a significant attacking overhaul by sporting director Richard Hughes.
It’s no secret that the Reds are chasing a new No9 and the likes of Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Joao Pedro have all been linked.
On the wings, there has been speculation that Anthony Gordon or Bryan Mbeumo could be coming to the club, while more fanciful links with Rodrygo of Real Madrid have emerged in recent days.
Liverpool 'seek to sign' wide forward
But the Reds could be once again set to visit Bournemouth as part of their summer transfer plans, raiding the south coast club for a new wide forward as well as a couple of defenders.
Links with Dean Huijsen, 20, and Milos Kerkez, 21, have been well established with Liverpool also eyeing upgrades in the back line.
But Hughes, who was previously technical director at Bournemouth, is also looking at a THIRD transfer target in the shape of Antoine Semenyo.
That’s according to a new report in the Independent, which claims the Reds are in competition with Arsenal and Manchester United for the Ghana international.
“Bournemouth meanwhile expect Huijsen, Antoine Semenyo and Milos Kerkez to leave as part of their own trading model, likely bringing in over £150m in sales,” the report reads.
“All of Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United are surveying Semenyo's progress as the three clubs seek to sign a wide forward this summer.”
Hughes has signed Semenyo once before
Equally adept at playing right wing or left wing, Semenyo has scored eight Premier League goals for Andoni Iraola’s side this season and added another five assists.
He is also a pressing monster, often winning the ball high up the pitch and turning possession over for his side.
The 25-year-old is under contract at the Vitality Stadium until 2029 and it’s been reported that a bid of around £70m could be required for Bournemouth to sell.
A classic Richard Hughes signing, Semenyo was acquired from Bristol City back in January 2023 for a fee of around £10m - proving the Liverpool executive’s eye for a bargain.

It will take many multiples of that figure for Semenyo to become a Red this summer but he has the quality and characteristics to shine for Slot’s team.
