Liverpool have had to get used to the menace Real Madrid present in the transfer market. Jude Bellingham and Aurelien Tchouameni are just two of the players the Reds recently lost out on with the midfield duo opting for the Bernabeu instead.

This summer Liverpool are expected to lose Trent Alexander-Arnold on a high-profile free transfer to the Spanish champions, a crushing blow to the Reds.

Liverpool Transfer News: Surprise at Anfield as RIDICULOUS Chelsea offer steals wonderkid

Indeed at times it appears that Madrid admire Liverpool’s setup so much they are seeking to replicate it wholesale.

Madrid want Huijsen and Kerkez

But not only are the Merseysiders at risk of losing their own players to Los Blancos, Florentino Perez’s side are now trying to PINCH Liverpool’s preferred transfer targets.

The latest reports from Spain suggest that Real Madrid are preparing a €100 million double-raid on Bournemouth for two potential Liverpool acquisitions.

It’s no secret that Arne Slot and Richard Hughes are going to have to rebuild their defence in the coming transfer windows.

Losing Trent is one problem to contend with but Van Dijk is already 33 and coming to the end of his contract and Andy Robertson is no longer the force he once was.

Hughes has reportedly earmarked TWO players at his former club in Bournemouth to help solve Liverpool’s impending defensive problems.

Liverpool want Huijsen and Kerkez

Dean Huijsen, the 19-year-old centre-back, has caught the eye since establishing himself in Andoni Iraola’s side towards the back-end of 2024 and appears to be on the shopping list of top clubs around Europe.

Likewise, Milos Kerkez has become one of the most promising left-backs around since signing for the Cherries in 2023 - a signing overseen by Hughes.

Huijsen, a recent Spanish international, is reported to have a release clause in his current contract of around €60 million while Kerkez could be available for around €40m.

It would be no easy operation in the best of times to ensure those two end up at Anfield but the lure of the Bernabeu could prove too much to resist once again.

Perez and CEO Jose Angel Sanchez are determined to replenish the squad and reduce the average age of the team and so a transfer for these two makes sense.

The report comes from Fichajes, which, in fairness, has been hit or miss on transfer rumours in the past.

Let’s hope Hughes and Arne Slot are able to convince Huijsen and Kerkez their futures are better served at the home of the incoming Premier League champions.
