Anfield Watch exclusively revealed last month that Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Luis Daiz are among the names likely to depart to make way for new signings.
These sales, combined with the potential departure of Mohamed Salah when his contract expires, would leave room for a new superstar in Liverpool’s front line.
Many names have been linked with a switch to Anfield, but the Reds may have just found the man that could come in and finally replace Sadio Mane.
Rafael Leao’s price tag slashed as Liverpool circle
According to a report from TeamTalk, the mega-star signing at Anfield this summer could come from Italy, with the Reds interested in bringing AC Milan star Rafael Leao to Merseyside.
The report states that despite Leao having a release clause of €175 million, the Rossoneri have set an asking price of just €100 million for the 25-year-old.

It is the €75 million (£62m) discount that has peaked Liverpool’s interest, and Leao could be the man to replace Diaz on the left-hand side of Slot’s front-line this summer.
Leao has been on Liverpool’s radar for a while, and Slot even described the Portuguese international as a ‘top player’ when the two sides clashed in the Champions League earlier this season.
How would Leao fit at Liverpool?
Leao, who has 10 goals and eight assists for AC Milan this season, has been a mainstay in the side since he arrived from Lille in the summer of 2019.
Capable of being deployed both on the left and through the middle, Leao possesses the versatility that Liverpool typically look for when recruiting attackers. His excellent dribbling and finishing make him an ideal player for Slot’s attack.
Although the €100 million (£84m) spend would make Leao one of the most expensive players in Liverpool’s history, money will be available if the Reds do have a clear out at the end of the season.
A bid of £70 million was rejected for Darwin Nunez in January, as exclusively revealed by Anfield Watch, and the Reds are likely to demand a similar fee in the summer. The sale of Nunez could effectively pay for the acquisition of Leao.

The Reds are renowned for their eye for opportunistic signings, and a €75 million discount on one of Europe’s top talents seems to fit that criteria, so Leao to Liverpool could well be on the cards.
