PSG blow Liverpool out of the water for Mo Salah
Liverpool are now POWERLESS to prevent Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah from talking to other clubs.
Now that the calendar has ticked over to January 1, 2025, the Reds’ in-demand trio are entitled to discuss pre-contract agreements with any potentially interested overseas teams.

The year kicked off with Real Madrid’s failed transfer bid for Alexander-Arnold, with it appearing inevitable that los Blancos will attempt to sign him on a free for the end of the season.
Van Dijk’s future lies on Merseyside but until he is pictured holding that pen fans will be jittery. And Mo Salah’s situation is perhaps even more concerning given his rampant form this season.
Liverpool face competition for Salah
The 32-year-old has emerged as the best player on the planet this season, plundering 20 goals and 17 assists in only 26 matches.
Any team would be DELIGHTED to have Salah in their ranks but a contract renewal with Liverpool is proving to be far from straightforward.
It’s believed that the Egyptian King would even accept a one-year deal in order to prolong his stay at Anfield but there is a plethora of enticing offers soon to appear in front of the two-time African Player of the Year.
Saudi Arabian clubs including Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad are believed to be interested and there is also noise coming from several European teams too. There have been reports of Barcelona being interested but it’s unlikely the hard-up Catalans could afford to sign Salah.
The most prominent European links have come with Paris Saint-Germain with head coach Luis Enrique reportedly viewing Salah as the ideal successor to Kylian Mbappe. It is a reworked PSG frontline this season and the Spaniard is hoping to add some firepower in summer.
And now details have emerged about the package PSG are putting together for Salah. It puts Liverpool and FSG’s efforts into perspective with the French side easily eclipsing what is reportedly on the table from Anfield.
Respected French journalist Romain Collet Gaudin claims on X, formerly Twitter, that PSG are offering Salah a three-year contract worth €500,000 per week. He also claims that all Liverpool have put in front of the forward is a two-year deal worth €400,000 per week.
Factoring in salary conversions, that is pretty much what Salah is currently reported to be earning - around £350,000 a week.
While Salah’s preference may well be to stay in order to win trophies and break records, the Reds now have an idea of the kind of benchmark it will take to pay Salah what he thinks he deserves.
