Pep Guardiola set to interfere in Liverpool transfer
Liverpool are facing looming contract uncertainty over Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.
With all three out of contract at the end of the season, it may soon come time to think about replacements.

One name that has reportedly figured on Liverpool’s list of replacements for Alexander-Arnold is Joshua Kimmich. Like the aforementioned trio, the 29-year-old Bayern Munich star is out of contract at the end of the season with no breakthrough yet reached over a new deal.
As well as playing right-back, the Germany is an attractive option due to his versatility and is a world-class performer in his own right in central midfield. And although his wages would be no snip - estimated at around €20 million per year - the Reds would be getting a consistent player with bags of experience.
Pep recommends Kimmich to Barca
It has been reported by various media over the last few weeks that the club had reached out to Kimmich’s entourage over the possibility of a free transfer.
However, the rug could be pulled on any potential deal between Liverpool and Kimmich with Pep Guardiola the man to blame. Although his Manchester City appear in need of a right-back of their own these days, it’s been reported by Fichajes in Spain that Guardiola has recommended his old club Barcelona sign Kimmich at the end of this season.
Guardiola signed Kimmich during his days at Bayern Munich and has pointed to his versatility as the key reason why the Catalans should get a deal done. Of course, Kimmich is no stranger to several figures at Barca; he is a former teammate of top scorer Robert Lewandowski and won the Champions League under current Barca boss Hansi Flick when he was in charge at Bayern.
It promises to be a bidding war for Kimmich, whose contract is ticking down and Liverpool will be hoping they can get one over on Pep - and Barca - in order to secure his signature.
