Move over Marmoush! Liverpool have signed their OWN Egyptian Prince
Liverpool had a disappointing transfer MISS when Omar Marmoush joined Manchester City.
It’s no secret that the Reds had been tracking the former Eintracht Frankfurt star over the last few transfer windows.

However with sporting director Richard Hughes’ priorities lying elsewhere, it left the road open for City to do a deal. Man City’s new No7 declined the opportunity to star alongside his Egyptian compatriot Mohamed Salah at Anfield, opting to go his own way.
Liverpool fans have been left disappointed by missing out on the Bundesliga sharpshooter as Darwin Nunez struggles for consistent form and Diogo Jota remains frustratingly unfit.
It would have been a pleasure to see Salah link up with his international colleague - if only for a few months - as the pair have struck up a good relationship for the Pharaohs.
Ayman signs first pro deal
But it’s not all doom and gloom around Anfield this week when it comes to Egyptian signings.
Because on the same day that Marmoush was confirmed as a City player, Liverpool were unveiling an Egyptian Prince of their own.
Although English-born, 17-year-old Alvin Ayman is part of the Egypt underage set-up. It was reported back in October that despite previously representing the Three Lions, he had thrown his lot in with the North Africans.
And the defender-cum-midfielder has just signed his first-ever pro deal with the Reds. It was announced on Thursday that the promising youth had put pen to paper on his contract.
It represents a huge step forward in the young career of Ayman, who first joined the Reds last summer. He moved from Wolves for a fee that is reckoned to be in the region of £1.5 million.
Ayman in Liverpool's U18 setup
Ayman had previously featured in the first-team squad under Gary OβNeil, having joined the club in 2023 from Bradford City.
Widely seen as one of the best academy talents in the country, Ayman has featured for Liverpoolβs Under-18 Premier League side this term.
Along with other youngsters like Trey Nyoni and Trent Kone-Doherty, Ayman could soon be a fixture in the Redβs first-team squad.
