Omar Marmoush reveals why he SNUBBED Mo Salah reunion at Liverpool
Liverpool’s long-standing interest in Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush has unfortunately proved to be ultimately fruitless, as the striker is poised to join Premier League rivals Manchester City for a reported €80m fee.
A compatriot of Mohamed Salah, Marmoush was thought to be excited by the prospect of lining up alongside Salah for both club and country, although this has evidently not come to pass, with Marmoush opting to join City instead.

Now Marmoush has opened up on his relationship with Salah in an interview with reporter Esaad Younes for Egyptian TV show Sahibet Al-Saada, hinting at why he rejected the chance to become Salah’s teammate at club level as well as internationally.
'I don't want to be the new Salah'
Marmoush said: "Mo and I have a very good relationship, and we are friends. We always talk, and I always try to learn from his experiences. He has been in Europe for a long time and has spent several years in the top tier.
"It's great to have someone from my country on the national team who has gone through all of this and accomplished so much, as it helps me learn from his experiences and listen to the stories he has been through.
"But at the same time, I want to make my own story. Of course, Salah is a great player, one of the best to have come out of Egypt and one of the best in Europe, but I don't want to be the next Mohamed Salah. I want to be Omar Marmoush. I want to make my own story.
"Everyone has their own story, and everyone has their own achievements that are important to them.”
It’s quite understandable that Marmoush wishes to be his own person, and that perhaps a situation where he would be at Liverpool alongside Salah might diminish his own rising stardom.
