This stat, whilst impressive, is not representative of the current state of the Reds’ attack under Arne Slot.

Mohamed Salah has scored or assisted 62% of Liverpool’s goals in the league so far this campaign, and the Egyptian’s ongoing contract saga means that Slot may need to reinforce his font-line this summer.
This seems to be something the club are well aware of, and they may have already made contact with the man who could come in to bolster the attack in a big summer reshuffle at Anfield.
Liverpool make contact with Nico Williams
According to a recent report from TBR Football, Liverpool have made contact with the representatives of Nico Williams and are one of the sides interested in bringing the Spaniard in this summer.
The report claims that both Liverpool and Arsenal have made contact with the Euros winner, and that Barcelona, Newcastle, Chelsea and Aston Villa are also interested.

Williams has long been admired by those at Liverpool, and links have persisted for a while, including last summer when the 22-year-old played a key part in Spain’s Euros victory.
With a release clause of £48 million, the forward represents an exciting and affordable opportunity, but it may be difficult to tempt him away from his homeland as his preferred destination is Barca according to the report.
Is Williams what Liverpool need?
Known for his elite dribbling and his ability to pick out a pass, Williams would offer something slightly different in Liverpool’s attack.
Williams truly announced himself to the world last season, scoring nine goals and providing 19 assists in all competitions for Athletic Bilbao as well as scoring in the Euros final against England.
This season however, the Spaniard has suffered a decline in form. He still has four goals and five assists to his name from his first 30 matches, but only one of these goals has come in La Liga.
Despite his so-far lacklustre showing this campaign, Williams has shown his talent in the past and that will likely be enough to get him a mega move this summer.

Nico Williams has one of the highest ceilings in European football, and Arne Slot could be the perfect coach to mould him into one of the world’s best players if they do pull the trigger on a move for the forward this summer.
