There remains considerable uncertainty over the future of Mohamed Salah too with the Egyptian entitled to speak with potentially interested overseas clubs about a free transfer since January 1.
And among the names linked with a potential incoming transfer to Anfield is the promising French attacker Mohamed-Ali Cho.
The versatile Nice forward, 21, has scored three goals and added three assists in 17 Ligue 1 games this season and is widely seen as a player of immense promise.
According to a new report in TEAMtalk the Reds “are seriously considering a move for him in the summer.”
Mohamed-Ali Cho - ex-Everton academy star
Although Cho has played mostly on the right wing for Franck Haise’s side this season, the left-footer has also featured extensively at centre-forward as well as on the left wing.
That versatility is said to appeal to Liverpool head coach Arne Slot, with Cho now reported to be among several attacking options under consideration at Anfield.
And if he makes a move to Merseyside he will be back on familiar terrain. Cho was born in France, growing up in the Paris suburbs and starring for the Paris Saint-Germain youth academy.
However, he joined the Everton academy from PSG in 2015 when his parents relocated for work. The Toffees were unable to tie the youngster to a permanent deal, a failure now described by sources to TEAMtalk as “one of the club’s biggest mistakes in recent years.”
Rather than join Everton, Cho opted for Angers, signing a pro deal in 2020 and going on to earn rave reviews.
From there he joined Real Sociedad for around €12 million in 2022 but he was unable to make the decisive breakthrough owing to an injury-ravaged two-season spell.
The forward returned to France with Nice in January 2024 where he has begun to establish himself as one of the most exciting young attacking talents around.
His form this season has alerted Premier League suitors, with Liverpool now reported to be in the queue for his signature.
A former England youth international, Cho has since made the switch to France and has represented their under-21 team.

Cho is under contract until 2028, meaning Nice can bank a sizeable fee, and the Reds are ready to make Everton REGRET losing a potential prized academy asset.
