However, the club's recruitment team will be fully aware that in the future they will need someone to take over from the Reds' right-winger.

Salah is not getting any younger. He's in the twilight years of his career and in a few years time he won't be able to perform at the same standards - that is simply the limitation of humankind. We all eventually wither and age as the ravages of time catch up to our bodies.

Liverpool don't need to fear though. There is a player on the club's radar who could be an ideal successor to Salah's throne.

Why Brazilian wonderkid Rayan could be an ideal Mo Salah successor

Anfield Watch exclusively reported that Liverpool's Global Talent Scouting Manager Kyle Woodbanks is in Venezuela at the moment observing the biggest South American talents at the U20 Sudamericana.

One of the players on Liverpool's radar will be Rayan. He's already been linked with a move to Anfield and he is an ideal profile.

Typically playing on the right, Rayan is a strong and physical player with plenty of speed and technical ability.

He's also a really intelligent footballer, who can play in a number of different roles - including often playing as forward for his side Vasco da Gama recently.

He's played a total of 1635 minutes for Vasco de Gama's first team so far and has scored just three goals which is not exactly prolific.

But he has been quite prolific at youth level. For Brazil's U17 team, Rayan managed 11 goal contributions in 14 appearances, including three goals in five matches at the U17 World Cup.

If he can match the same numbers at senior level, there is no denying he could be a brilliant option for Liverpool. Given his profile, he's exactly the type of player who would slot into Arne Slot's system.

Rayan is direct - he is capable of moving into central channels - a bit like Cody Gakpo on the right. He's also still very raw but clearly has a lot of potential.

In a few years, time he could be ready to succeed Salah at Liverpool.

This trip to Venezuela could have been the beginning of the Reds lining up a move to bring him to Anfield and prepare him for one of the most impossible missions of all time - replacing one of the most important players in the Reds' history in the 21st century.

That won't be easy, but Rayan definitely has the raw potential. Under the guidance of Slot, anything is possible.

How many times have cheap broke FSG and their staff scouted young South American talented players over a period of a few years and not signed one of them and these players move to Other clubs and become top top quality players ie vinny, Rodrygo, varela, neves etc etc
