Liverpool have the go-ahead to complete a deal that could see arguably the world’s two best players right now combine. The Reds will find this one difficult to resist.

Bild reports that Omar Marmoush wants a move to Liverpool. The Egyptian is expected to leave Eintracht Frankfurt in 2025, having been linked with a transfer all year long.

Marmoush is in extraordinary form this season, too. He’s scored 11 goals in 10 Bundesliga fixtures - a phenomenal rate and one that’s even more phenomenal when you consider he also has seven assists. In all competitions, he’s managed 14 goals and 10 assists.

It’s a rate that virtually no one can match. Marmoush is right up there as arguably the best player in the world this season - though, it’s still early days. It’s a period of sensational form that has him playing like the best, but maintaining that over a full campaign is the difference between good and great.

His performances are practically begging someone to sign him, though, and it appears Liverpool could be that club. In doing so, they could united the other player in the running as the world’s best.

Omar Marmoush and Mo Salah

Liverpool already have a player with over 10 goals and 10 assists, of course. Mo Salah is putting those numbers up, too, and only Barcelona’s Raphinha has since joined that club.

The Egyptian pair are playing out of their skin. Marmoush simply has the best numbers in Europe right now, while Salah is playing the starring role in a team that tops both the Premier League and Champions League.

And if Liverpool are feeling ambitious, they could actually pair the two of them in January. A winter transfer would be difficult - a transfer would cost £50m-ish - but it’s not entirely out of the question.

Marmoush would slot into the team as a centre-forward, too, allowing him to comfortably play alongside Salah. The Egyptian king and the crown prince?

It does feel a bit mad but arguably the world’s two ‘best’ players right now could combine at Liverpool. Marmoush wants the move and Salah wants to stay - it’s a genuine reality.

And it doesn’t get much more exciting.
