Liverpool's attempt to bolster its already deadly attack has come under threat.

Arne Slot's side have adapted well to the new regime and currently sit top of the Premier League table, scoring 22 goals in their opening 10 games in all competitions.

However, a crucial part of the success is Mohamed Salah who is out of contract next summer. Should the Egyptian leave at the end of his contract, the Reds are on high alert for talent to add to their squad.

However, one potential addition has attracted more interest from elsewhere.

Newcastle want Osorio

TBR has exclusively revealed that Newcastle are interested in Midtjylland winger Dario Osorio after Eddie Howe's men missed out on a number of their top targets last summer.

The Chile national has landed himself on the radar of numerous clubs after he displayed a number of impressive performances in both the Danish Superliga and the UEFA Europa League. Liverpool will have to fend off the likes of Aston Villa, Brentford, Brighton, Crystal Palace, Wolves, Celtic and Rangers are all said to admire the player.

Manchester United and Real Madrid are also reportedly monitoring the 20-year-old's progress in Denmark, with Osorio said to form part of the La Liga giant's transfer strategy.

Per Jacek Kulig's scouting website, Osorio is considered to be a "top talent" who rose through the ranks at Universidad De Chile, making 33 appearances for the first team in 2022, scoring eight goals and playing just under 2,000 minutes, before arriving in Denmark in August last year.

Liverpool have been interested in bringing the winger to Merseyside for some time. He has often been compared to Angel Di  Maria and mainly operates on the right wing, cutting in with his left foot.

The Reds reportedly had a €10m bid rejected for the player in the summer confirmed by Danish news outlet Tipsbladet. Now with his recent success and heightened interest, Liverpool seemed to have missed their chance for getting him for a low price.

Their golden opportunity to secure a top talent who could replace Salah is now gone and Osorio will likely cost a fortune going forward. A summer 2024 transfer at a decent price was their chance.
