Time is seriously of the essence here for Liverpool with Salah now able to negotiate with clubs from abroad. There's less than six months left of his current deal when he can even negotiate with clubs from England.

Saudi Arabian clubs have expressed an interest and it remains to be seen if Liverpool could actually tie him down to a new deal.

In the meantime, the club are reportedly exploring their options in the right-winger market, and one youngster has reportedly caught their eye.

Why Ian Subabre is on Liverpool's transfer radar

Anfield Watch revealed exclusively that the club's scouts are currently at the U20 Sudamericana. One of the players Anfield Watch revealed Liverpool are tracking is Deinner Ordonez.

However, there will be other players on the club's radar, too. We revealed that according to TBR, one of them is Agustin Ruberto. But the report also claims Liverpool are interested in Ian Subabre.

The 18-year-old young star is a right-winger who plays for River Plate. Standing at 1.71 metres, he is left-footed and fits the type of profile Liverpool look for.

Subabre has 15 goal contributions for River Plate's second team and also has four appearances for the first team. According to TBR's report, he isn't just being eyed by Liverpool but a host of other clubs including Chelsea and Manchester City.

So far, Subabre has two goals in three starts for Argentina at U20 Sudamericana and has caught the eye with his brilliant dribbling combined with his finishing.

Obviously, a player who only has four first team appearances will not be a direct replacement to Salah this summer but it's interesting that Liverpool are keeping an eye on him.

The more uncertain Salah's future becomes, the more likely it is that the Reds will need to reinforce their options at right-wing.

Subabre could be an ideal option to bring into the squad as a back-up. But we know Liverpool don't often tend to sign players directly from South America.

Despite having a strong scouting presence in the region, Liverpool will often wait until a South American star catches the eye in Europe before making a move.
