Saudi Pro League boss releases STATEMENT on Mo Salah contract
The Saudi Pro League CEO has released a statement on Liverpool's Mo Salah. This has come from nowhere.
Mo Salah's ridiculous contract situation continues to rumble on. The Egyptian will leave Liverpool in the summer as things stand and he's far from afraid to say it.

Ahead of the Manchester United clash, for one, Salah blatantly dropped in an interview that this would be his 'last year' at the club. It's far from the first time he's done that, either.
And really, we're all none the wiser as to why Liverpool have such a problem renewing his deal. The initial issue is clear: Salah's age.
He's going to be 33 by the time any new contract kicks in and the Reds are reluctant to pay big money to anyone who could quickly decline. There's no denying that Salah could - just look at Sadio Mané if you'd like confirmation.
But at the same time, Salah is the best player in the world right now. It's really not the risk Liverpool seem to think it is.
Their reluctance to get this sorted, though, is inviting trouble. And it's jus arrived in a very big way.
Saudi Pro League statement on Mo Salah
The Saudi Pro League CEO Omar Mugharbel has spoken out on Salah as his contract continues to wind down. The league has tried to sign him in the past, of course, supposedly offering Liverpool a record amount to get a deal done in 2023.
"Our interest in Mohamed Salah is not a secret," said Mugharbel, per So3ody. in addition to his contract expiring with Liverpool.”
Now why Mugharbel is suddenly talking about Salah isn't clear. Multiple Saudi outlets report these quotes but just put them down to a 'statement released' via the league.
So what prompted them is anyone's guess. All we can say for sure is that the Saudis are quite blatantly turning up the heat on the Salah situation here.
They want to sign him, desperately, and that's been known for years. Salah is, after all, the face of Arabic football and one of the world's greatest players.
He's also publicly admitted in the past that he'd play there. If this is their chance to sign Salah, the Saudi Pro League is sure to make the most of it.
And so it begins.
