Liverpool's no.11 has been the world's best player this season. It's not even really a debate - he's been utterly dominant as the Reds march towards a 20th top-flight title and look like serious contenders for the UEFA Champions League.

Salah has 25 goals and 17 assists this season just in the Premier League. He tops the charts for both and is about as certain to win Footballer of the Year as anyone ever has been.

And yet, Liverpool could lose him for nothing. This is the only time in history that someone regarded as the world's best player is actively wanting to play for the Reds.

Still, that's not enough. Doubts over his age and potential decline are enough to put Liverpool off here - they don't want to lock him down on enormous wages and then witness a sharp drop in his abilities.

Sadio Mané, for instance, is the same age as Salah but the drop-off since 2022 has been alarming. He's the perfect example of why Liverpool haven't renewed the contract of their star player.

And yet, Salah is still trying to convince them.

Mo Salah's big move

Telefoot in France reports that Salah is so eager to renew with Liverpool that he isn't actually talking to other clubs.

He's free to do so since January 1st. Salah is completely able to discuss terms with non-English clubs and sign a pre-contract to move on July 1st.

But he's not even trying to do that. Salah is showing Liverpool just how eager he is to remain on Merseyside that he's refusing to talk with anyone else.

We imagine Telefoot came across this information thanks to Paris Saint-Germain wanting the player. They've been consistently linked with a move for Salah but it appears they'll need to wait for Liverpool to completely rule out a renewal.

This is unquestionably good news for anyone wanting Salah to stay. It doesn't reduce the tension, however, as no one is particularly sure whether Liverpool will eventually offer their star what he's after.

So this is far from over but it is a sign that Salah is more likely to stay then leave. We'll be crossing our fingers until it's confirmed, though.

Surely a performance related 3 yeardeal is not beyond The Witt of man.

So two years on whatever with an option for a third if remaining at a suitable level. Mo is Mr Liverpool the modern day legend and still playing at the highest of levels. All three should be given a suitable reasonable contract
