While Arne Slot's Reds continue to exceed expectations on the pitch, the noise off the pitch is louder than ever.

The contracts of Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are looming in the background and it is only a matter of weeks until they can negotiate with other clubs surrounding their futures.

As such, speculation on their situations is rife and Arne Slot is guaranteed to be asked at least one question on the matter while the club's sporting director Richard Hughes is left in silence to work it all out.

Last month, Anfield Watch exclusively reported that Van Dijk will be staying at Liverpool, although the club has yet to confirm the news.

Meanwhile, news surrounding Trent has been extremely limited and Salah has been left to speak directly to the media in order to spark some more enthusiasm from the club regarding his extension talks.

Salah likely to sign a new contract

According to sources at Football Insider, both Salah and Van Dijk are likely 'to now sign new Liverpool contracts'.

This would represent a big step forward for the club in securing the Egyptian winger's services next season and beyond, following what has been a magnificent campaign so far this season.

Salah has scored 15 goals and notched 12 assists across all competitions this season, statistics that would be exemplary for any forward across a campaign, never mind 27 goal contributions in the bank by December.

As such, Liverpool fans have been left baffled by the lack of movement from Liverpool on giving the 32-year-old a new contract.

Should these latest rumours prove true, it would be a significant breakthrough for the Reds and perhaps it would allow the focus to return to on the pitch matters.

The team has created positivity throughout the season already, leading the way at the top of the Premier League and the Champions League, but a resolution to the three contract issues would be the cherry on top for Arne Slot's early tenure at the club.

Trent Alexander-Arnold more likely to leave

The report from Football Insider also claimed that Trent remains '50-50' over a potential move to Real Madrid, and while there has been almost no update on his situation, fans would be wise to stay cautious over his future.

In the past, he has made clear that he wants to finish his career with no regrets while declaring his ambition to not only captain Liverpool one day but also win the coveted Ballon d'Or as a full-back.

Whether Trent can achieve these hopes is uncertain. His plan is certainly an ambitious one and while Liverpool may be the club best suited to delivering these ambitions, it will all depend on how he views things.

Having grown up on Merseyside, he is one of the few scousers in the team alongside Curtis Jones.

Currently acting as Van Dijk's vice-captain, there is the potential for him to eventually take up the reigns as captain, but a securing Ballon d'Or may well be a pipedream.

Nonetheless, Trent's decision will pin on how the club attempts to deal with his situation, with the club likely to make the decisive call which will be crucial to any pathway the right-back might take.

Until the club clears up all of the uncertainty around the three contracts, we will remain none the wiser, but the claims that Salah and Van Dijk are set to sign new contracts present us with a positive update at least.
