How Mo Salah's family is REALLY feeling as contract WORRIES go on
Mohamed Salah has again been Liverpool’s top star this season. The Egyptian King leads the way in the Reds’ goalscoring charts, just like he has done every season since joining from Roma in 2017.
Salah has scored 229 goals in 373 matches overall for the Merseysiders, establishing himself as an all-time club legend. Not only is Salah Liverpool’s greatest goalscorer of the modern era, he has also swept the board for team and individual honours.

Liverpool have won Champions League, Premier League and FIFA Club World Cup honours - among other trophies - during Salah’s tenure and he is showing no signs of slowing down.
However, there is a major problem afoot with Salah free to speak to potentially interested overseas clubs in a matter of days. The 32-year-old is out of contract in summer 2025 and so far there has been NO breakthrough in talks over extending his deal.
And the uncertainty is causing worry not only for Salah’s fans but also his family back home in Egypt. Mo’s sister, Rabab Salah, recently conducted an interview with Egyptian outlet Youm7 and admitted that she is CONCERNED if there is something bothering her brother at club level.
Salah's sister 'always concerned'
Asked: “How does it feel to be the sister of one of the most important stars in the world?”, Rabab Salah replied: "Look, this feeling is a bit different for me because when you are a sister, what controls you is the feelings of a sister towards her brother.
"Of course, I see him as a star, and I see his success and everything, but when you are a sister, you worry about him, and you are always concerned about whether he is upset or happy. I mean, this is the feeling that controls me the most if there is something, for example, that bothers him in the club.”
It’s believed that Salah wants to stay at Liverpool and is willing to accept a one-year extension in order to prolong his stay at Anfield. And it makes sense if the player’s family is ‘bothered’ by the contract uncertainty. But Rabab’s care and attention for her brother is not a newfound thing.
She admits she’s always been worried about his welfare, going right back to his days as a youth player at Al Mokawloon.
"This feeling has been around since Salah was very little, and it has grown with me,” she said. “Since he was young, I was with him step by step. I remember how he used to travel by public transportation, and I would wait for him to come back. He used to come back at 10 at night in the winter, and I would be upset and waiting for him in front of the door.
"And during Ramadan, we would set the table for iftar and he still hadn't arrived, so the sisterly feeling dominates the most."
