Liverpool handed HUGE Mo Salah boost after BIZARRE Saudi statement
Liverpool could well LOSE Mohamed Salah at the end of the current season given he is out of contract in 2025.
The Reds’ hierarchy have not yet made progress over a new deal with the Egyptian King, who is believed to favour a stay at Anfield despite his assertions to the contrary.

While the terms of any renewal are not yet known, it was previously reported that Salah would settle for a one-year extension in order to stay at Liverpool and continue his record-breaking quests.
Nonetheless, there has been plenty of interest in Salah’s services from far and wide. The 32-year-old will be eligible to conduct contract talks with any interested overseas clubs in just under two weeks.
Saudi favourites for Salah signature
Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Juventus have all been touted as interested in adding Salah to their ranks, while Besiktas, Galatasaray, Al-Ahly and Zamalek have also been linked.
Furthermore there is interest from MLS with San Diego set to enter the race for Salah’s signature.
Nonetheless, the strongest links have always come from Saudi Arabia. Last year Liverpool DECLINED to negotiate with Al-Ittihad, who were offering eye-watering sums to both Salah and the club.
And interest remains from the Saudi Pro League with it now believed that Al-Hilal are the No.1 contenders to sign Salah. With the revamped FIFA Club World Cup to contend with next summer, Al-Hilal require some major investments in order to compete with the likes of Real Madrid, Red Bull Salzburg and Pachuca.
Al-Hilal 'don't need' Salah
But one key figure at Al-Hilal believes it would be WRONG of his club to sign Salah and instead has called for reinforcements in different positions.
Prince Nawaf bin Mohammed, a former official and supervisor of Al-Hilal, was interviewed by KSA Sports TV, revealing that a replacement for Kalidou Koulibably should be the first priority and a holding midfielder after that.
"Al-Hilal needs to sign a great defender better than Koulibaly, whose level has clearly declined this season,” the prince said.
“The club also needs to study the issue of the full-back because the coach plays with the right-back on the right and left sides.
“Al-Hilal is in dire need of a No.6 midfielder who is good at defensive roles, because they will face very strong teams in the World Cup. Real Madrid will be the group stage opponent, but there may be another strong opponent in the next stage.
“The team needs to build a huge defensive force and therefore needs a strong pivot. Ruben Neves? He is No 8, not No.6.
When the issue of Salah came up, Prince Nawaf was in no doubt when asked if the Saudi giants should sign him. "No, of course not,” he said. “Al-Hilal does not need him in light of the presence of Salem Al Dawsari and Malcom. Signing him is just a show."
