Liverpool will need to be quick if they're to seal a deal for Milos Kerkez. But one is firmly on the cards.

It's no secret that Liverpool admire Milos Kerkez. Anfield Watch broke news of initial talks all the way back in November, and things have only become more concrete since then.

The Reds are in the market for a new left-back as they hunt for a long-term successor to Andy Robertson. The Scot will go down as arguably the finest left-back we've ever seen at Anfield and certainly the best since Alan Kennedy - but the time has come to look beyond him.

That spells bad news for Kostas Tsimikas, of course, who will have hoped to be the long-term successor himself. It appears that's not the case, though, and Liverpool will be signing someone this summer.

Kerkez catches the eye for obvious reasons. The Hungarian has been electric on the left for Bournemouth, showing exactly the kind of energy you'd need to replace Robertson.

His two goals and five assists this season are a fantastic output - he's actually averaging a goal or assist every 360 minutes. Liverpool would love that return right now.

But the real draw for Kerkez is that he's still only 21. The hope is that this is just the beginning and that he'll be pushing those numbers up a level in both a better Liverpool side and with his own development.

He's ticking all the right boxes, then. Now it seems the Reds have been given a green light to push forward - if they're quick.

Bournemouth ready to sell

The Telegraph report that Bournemouth will only sell one or two of their first-team stars this summer. It's something they have to consider given the incredible interest in their players.

Liverpool have to take that two ways. Firstly, they are ready to sell a couple of stars and will entertain offers for players.

But it also means they're up against the clock to get deals done. Once Bournemouth have moved players on, they'll shut the door to further exits.

Dean Huijsen is one of those expected to leave Bournemouth as he's got a release clause in his contract. It essentially leaves space for one more exit and Liverpool will want to get there quickly with Kerkez.

The Cherries will talk about the player and potentially sell, though with that caveat. Time is on the player's side, too - at 21, he can be patient and Liverpool shouldn't count on him throwing toys out the pram to force a move here.

If Kerkez is the one for Liverpool, they should move quickly. They can get this one done if they do.
