The Reds want to give Arne Slot an attack built for his style of play, essentially. The Dutchman has certainly earned the right to one as he's got the Reds storming towards the Premier League title.

But he's also shown everyone that the potential here is immense. It's a young squad with incredible talent and something Liverpool have to build on.

The forwards, however, simply aren't reliable enough. Mo Salah is phenomenal, of course, but he might be on his way out with the expiry of his contract.

Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez are both very unreliable for their own reasons. One's injured far too often and the other is as hot and cold as it gets.

Luis Diaz, too, is linked with an exit as contract issues rumble on. Cody Gakpo is really the only one Liverpool can count on beyond this season.

That has them looking at new signings, of course. And it appears they may have found a very exciting one.

Liverpool chase Marcus Thuram

TheBootRoom reports that Liverpool have been watching Marcus Thuram in recent times. The Reds have been in attendance to keep an eye on him within the last month.

Though, they're far from the first outlet to report this. Plenty of Italian reports have put Thuram on Liverpool's radar over a move in 2025.

It's easy to see why. Thuram, the son of French World Cup winner Lillian Thuram, has scored 13 times this season, assisting another four in Serie A.

He's also the kind of physical presence that Liverpool are after. Strong, quick, direct - basically the things Nunez does but with a lot more impact.

Thuram is also incredibly versatile, capable of playing up top on his own, in a front two, or wide on the left. He's exactly the kind of player Liverpool would want to chase in a rebuild.

But there are issues. Price, for one, as Inter won't really want to sell. The other is that Thuram is now 27 and isn't the kind of long-term investment that Liverpool typically like.

So this is one to watch but is far from the sure-thing that other strikers might be.
