England star chooses Liverpool; Richard Hughes set to WIN race
Liverpool are set to win the race for an England star. The player has chosen the Reds.
Liverpool are set for a very busy 2025. The Reds have all sorts of plans in just about every area of the pitch and Richard Hughes will be incredibly busy trying to make things work.
Liverpool Transfer News: Arne Slot gives backing as Reds line-up club record deal
The Reds will study a wealth of players in order to draw up a shortlist. They'll do this in every position, too - after all, nearly every position requires something this summer.
Trent Alexander-Arnold could leave the club with the end of his contract, opening up a spot at right-back. The same goes for Virgil van Dijk and centre-back and Mo Salah on the right wing.
Ibrahima Konate is linked with an exit as he enters the final year of his contract. That makes centre-back a problem area and players must be found.
Midfield is an interesting one. Liverpool tried to add to it last summer with Martin Zubiemdni but failed the land the Spaniard. Will they try again?
Anfield Watch understands Liverpool want to overhaul their attack this summer, too. All sorts of players will be scouted for that in what's a massive undertaking.
But it appears one position might be sorted. Or at least, Hughes has the chance to land one of the Premier League's most interesting centre-backs.

Marc Guehi picks Liverpool
The Mirror reports that Marc Guehi has chosen Liverpool as his next club if he leaves Crystal Palace. The Eagles' captain is heavily linked with a move away this summer.
Newcastle United attempted other sign the defender last summer and offered Palace a fantastic amount of money for him. It was rejected, however, despite the fact that Guehi enters the final year of his deal in July.
But the Magpies are now aware that Guehi prefers a move to Liverpool. The Reds still need to put an offer on the table - and see off late interest from others - but the player is theirs right now.

It's a chance to pick up a brilliant defender who ticks homegrown boxes, has experience as captain and should be available at a reduced price. It would be mad not to consider a transfer, in all honesty.
And we're hoping it's to replace neither Van Dijk nor Konate. Having all three as options would be ridiculously strong next season, though it admittedly seems unrealistic for Guehi to jump to Liverpool as third choice.
Perhaps he's aware Liverpool want him as a first-choice player. But maybe he just wants to play for Arne Slot's Reds.
This one still has a little ways to run, of course, but it's a boost to Liverpool. If they decide to move forward here, Guehi should be a Red.
