It appears Luis Diaz could be leaving Liverpool in 2025. The Colombian has run into contract problems - but it's understandable why.

Diaz remains on the initial contract he signed back when he joined Liverpool. That's now three years ago, which is unusual for the club.
Liverpool typically sign players on lower wages but with large bonuses attached. Perform well and you'll quickly get new contracts for bigger money.
Only Diaz hasn't got that. For context, Capology reports that the forward is paid around one-third of Cody Gakpo's wages despite the pair sharing the same role.
We wrote back at the end of last season that Diaz would be pretty justified in pushing for a move. That ultimately didn't come over the summer but it feels as though 2025 really could see the Colombian move away.
Chelsea move in for Luis Diaz
Colombian outlet Antenna 2 reports that Chelsea are interested in signing Diaz. They're currently preparing a move for the forward and believe they can sign him from Liverpool.
Understandably, a big reason for their confidence is in the offer they'll present Diaz. They're willing to make him one of their best-paid players to convince him Stamford Bridge is the place to be.
The major question, then, is whether Liverpool would sell to Chelsea. They have done so in the past, of course, with the likes of Fernando Torres and Raul Meireles heading there.
Both moves were a long time ago, however. Would the current group be so willing to sell to Chelsea?
It really depends on how highly they rate Diaz. Liverpool, after all, haven't deemed his performances worth of a contract boost.
