One man that the club have their sights set on is Warren Zaire-Emery of PSG, as exclusively revealed by Anfield Watch.

The young Parisian is one of France’s most promising talents, and with the Reds’ midfield in need of a refresh he could be the ideal signing for Arne Slot.
This summer is set to be a huge one for Liverpool in the transfer market, with an overhaul of Slot’s attacking options expected, but it could also be a chance to future-proof the squad, setting the Reds’ boss up for a reign full of trophy success.
Liverpool’s interest in Zaire-Emery
Although the 18-year-old is under contract until 2029 with the reigning French champions, there is a belief among Liverpool’s recruitment team that his head can be turned.
Michael Edwards’ good relationship with Zaire-Emery’s agent, Jorge Mendes, could be key to getting a deal over the line and the young midfielder has already held talks with his compatriot Ibrahima Konate over a move to Merseyside.
It is clear to see why the Reds are interested in the 18-year-old, who has recorded over 100 senior appearances for PSG and six caps for France.

“[Zaire-Emery] might not look like a typical Luis Enrique central midfielder – he’s much more physically robust than that – but he’s technically excellent,” French football expert Robin Bairner told Anfield Watch.
“If he was anything other than an expert at retaining possession, he wouldn’t be in the team.”
How would Zaire-Emery fit into the Liverpool team?
Although Slot clearly favours a midfield three of Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, there is very little depth in the midfield beyond this trio.
Curtis Jones has also been heavily relied upon, and has impressed at times, but Wataru Endo, Tyler Morton and Harvey Elliott make up the rest of the midfield department and are clearly not fancied by the Reds’ boss.
Zaire-Emery’s already high level suggests he could come in and instantly provide competition for places, and his versatility and youth mean he could be moulded into Slot’s perfect midfielder.
“Zaire-Emery is capable of playing any of the three midfield roles that Slot has typically assigned but is perhaps least likely to replace Szoboszlai, who has been the player most advanced,” Bairner told Anfield Watch.
“He is likely to be brought into the rotation with Gravenberch and Mac Allister deeper in the team.”
Is Zaire-Emery a good fit for the Reds?
As well as being able to fill in across the midfield, the 18-year-old can also deputise at right-back, a position Liverpool will be left short in if Trent Alexander-Arnold leaves this summer.
The versatility that Zaire-Emery possesses at such a young age makes him such an appealing prospect.
His ability to pick up the ball deep and help the transition to the forward players makes him perfectly suited to Slot’s system, as does his fairly spotless injury record.
Gravenberch has become so crucial to Liverpool that Zaire-Emery is most likely to slot in alongside him if he does make the move to Anfield.
The Frenchman is a target that Liverpool are willing to go all out for and he could be the face of Arne Slot’s midfield for the next decade, so it’s clear to see why fans are excited.
