After remaining with Antonio Conte's side through last summer's window, the Georgia international looks set to depart the club this month.

Paris Saint-Germain are said to lead the race but Premier League sides Liverpool and Chelsea are also there.

And this isn't just rumours either with renowned transfer journalist David Ornstein and respected Liverpool voice Paul Joyce both affirming the Reds' interest.

While declaring that it would be VERY unusual for FSG and Richard Hughes to get involved in a high-stakes transfer battle, their declared interest must mean that they fancy their chances of landing the 23-year-old.

Where last summer Kvaratskhelia was quoted at around €100 million, that price will have come down since then.

This is an opportunistic transfer

He is under contract until 2027 but given last summer's transfer rumours were sparked over an alleged transfer dispute there is little chance of him extending.

That means this deal could fall under the 'opportunistic' category spoken about last summer by Hughes.

But his signing would have a knock-on effect for the stars already at Arne Slot's disposal.

While there is still transfer uncertainty over Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo, Federico Chiesa and Mohamed Salah, it is likely that Kvara would be added to that roster of talent for half a season at least.

What happens in the summer remains unknown but it's fair to say 'Kvaradona' arriving will cause a shakeup in the short and long term.

Gakpo out, Kvara in?

Liverpool would be adding one of the best wingers in the world - although his form hasn't been so amazing this season - and Slot would probably have to clear the ranks somehow to bring him in.

Gakpo would be immediately in the firing line, given his form on the left wing, and it wouldn't be an easy conversation to drop the Dutch international.

That said, he is versatile and could well end up back up top or else rotate like he has been doing with Diaz this term.

But if Kvara comes into the club then it is likely that Diaz would see his minutes at left wing very much limited. He has provided expert cover at No.9 and he would probably have to remain there for the rest of his time at the club.

And, with the Georgia hero arriving, it would mean Diaz's time at Anfield would surely come to a premature end.

Elsewhere, there WILL be an impact on Chiesa.

He may well be used as a makeweight for the Kvara deal and that would mean an immediate end to a disappointing spell on Merseyside.

Kvaratskhelia is a multi-faceted threat

But even if he stays, he is likely to see Kvaratskhelia leapfrog him as an option on the right. Although only fielded from the right very occasionally throughout his career, his right-footedness means he could provide an added width should Slot show a willingness to deviate from Salah or another player with the same profile.

Kvaratskhelia starred at Euro 2024 meanwhile as part of a front two with Georges Mikautadze. With Willy Sagnol opting for a back three / back five set-up, it gave Georgia licence to play with a front two. They dovetailed beautifully, demonstrating that if the Reds were seeking to utilise him in a partnership he would be up to the task.

An expert dribbling, ball carrier and channel runner, Kvaratskhelia is a multi-faceted attacking threat. While primarily a left-winger, his arsenal of skills would give Slot ample cover for players in other positions.

This is one deal we can get very excited about.

How Liverpool could line up with Kvaratskhelia:

4-3-3: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai; Salah, Kvaratskhelia, Diaz
