As such, while some players might stand out above the rest, we can count no one out of a move until the transfer window formally opens and business starts to take place.

Liverpool fans will understandably have been looking at potential Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah replacements up until a few weeks ago when breakthroughs were found in their negotiations with the club.

Nonetheless, a lot of work still needs to be done and every opportunity that presents itself to Liverpool should be considered. According to the latest reports a 'world class' star might be on the move.

Liverpool are 'keen' on Kingsley Coman

According to Christian Falk, Liverpool are interested in signing Coman this summer before he enters the final year of his contract with Bayern Munich, which expires in 2026.

The 28-year-old winger is one of the most reliable assets in world football, having contributed to 11 league titles across his career, playing for PSG, Juventus and Bayern Munich.

Although this season he has been hampered by injury a little more often than he used to be.

He is comfortable playing on either side of the pitch and he delivers a consistent minimum of 10-15 goal contributions in every season he plays, while having his workload managed.

Coman has been described as 'world-class' by Bayern's CEO Oliver Kahn, and the Frenchman has proven he is an elite forward across his illustrious career.

Falk's latest report said: "The bosses want fresh blood for the squad. That's why Kingsley Coman is to be sold. In the meantime, Arsenal's interest has also become more concrete, and Liverpool also have him on their list."

No transfer fee is mentioned, although Football Transfers estimate his value to be £33m, which is particularly reasonable for a seasoned professional who is a serial winner.

Anfield Watch understands that Luis Diaz is one of three forwards that could depart Liverpool this summer and Coman would certainly add a freshness to Liverpool's side, while helping continue the club's positive relations with Bayern Munich.

The Frenchman's current weekly salary is £280,000 a week, but the Reds might be able to convince him to take a pay cut on the basis that he is currently struggling to get minutes as Jamal Musiala, Leroy Sane and Michael Olise all play in similar positions to him.

A move to Liverpool would offer him an important role in a full-throttle team, playing regular Champions League football, while challenging for the Premier League. It could be a match made in heaven.
