Kevin De Bruyne moving to Liverpool is more likely than you think. The legendary midfielder will leave Manchester City this summer.

Kevin De Bruyne will be leaving Manchester City at the end of the season. The Belgian announced it this week and it calls time on one of the greatest spells of any player in Premier League history.

For our money, he goes down as City's greatest ever player. He's led them to every trophy and while Pep Guardiola's arrival triggered their dominance, it also coincides with De Bruyne's peak.

Are they the same team without him? Can they be? There is no replacement.

Even this weekend, City went 2-0 down to Crystal Palace at the Etihad and were all over the place. It was De Bruyne who saved the day, scoring a free kick, grabbing an assist and creating three chances.

It was the midfielder at his best and he admitted after the match that not being in pain for once made a massive difference. When he plays like this, De Bruyne looks unstoppable - the question is just how often can he actually play like this?

We'd quite like Liverpool to find out.

Kevin De Bruyne to Liverpool

De Bruyne gave a very interesting interview to Viaplay after the Palace game where he admitted the door isn't necessarily closed on staying in England. When asked if it's possible he remains in the Premier League, the player said, ‘Honestly, I don't know' and that nothing could be decided in a week.

It's a stance no one really saw coming. There's interest in De Bruyne from Saudi Arabia and the United States - offers that will come with incredible money.

But if he's serious about remaining at the elite level, Liverpool should consider an offer. It's one he might just accept.

De Bruyne, after all, grew up as a Liverpool fan. There's a famous video of him as a kid declaring his support, along with Michael Owen being his favourite player.

It's not too late to live out that dream, you know. For one thing, Liverpool's midfield absolutely would not be reliant on De Bruyne staying fit. He could play a fairly relaxed schedule - whatever suits him, honestly.

City don't have that luxury as they're just simply not good enough without him in the team. Liverpool, in contrast, will almost certainly be the league champions without him.

And who wouldn't want to see Virgil van Dijk, Mo Salah and De Bruyne lining up together (other than every other club)? The three greatest Premier League stars of the last eight years.

De Bruyne would be a free transfer and even just for one year, we think it makes financial sense. He'd inject the kind of magic few players can - and move even a title-winning side up a level.

Do we think it'll happen? No, almost certainly not. But there is something about this one that makes it not impossible.

De Bruyne's comments open the door and we'd like Liverpool take advantage.
