The four positions Liverpool will STRENGTHEN in upcoming summer overhaul
It is shaping up to be a landmark summer at Anfield with Liverpool in the hunt for several new arrivals.
Sporting director Richard Hughes only added Federico Chiesa to the squad last summer - with Giorgi Mamardashvili set to arrive at the end of the season once his current loan at Valencia ends.

The club were again inactive in January, although plenty of youth and fringe talents were on the move in the loan market.

However, having largely stayed out of the transfer game for the past few windows, it looks like Liverpool will be strengthening in the upcoming window.
There should be plenty of money to spend and due diligence will have been done on targets all year long. That means Arne Slot’s squad - which is about to win the Premier League title - is only going to get stronger in the next few months.
Liverpool transfer priorities identified
Now security has been provided in terms of Virgil van Dijk and Mo Salah signing new contracts, deals can be accelerated for players in other positions.
And on a recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, journalist Pete O’Rourke disclosed which FOUR positions will be earmarked for upgrades this summer.
Firstly, according to the reporter, Liverpool could be in for a big overhaul in defence with right-back, centre-back and left-back in line for arrivals.
With Trent Alexander-Arnold on the verge of leaving - and Conor Bradley requiring cover - the likes of Wesley Franca, Ola Aina and Andrei Ratiu have been linked as potential recruits.
At centre-back, Dean Huijsen would appear to be the leading candidate to arrive amid uncertainty around Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez and Jarell Quansah’s futures.
Milos Kerkez has long been touted as the man to replace Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas at left-back and that area of the pitch is sure in line for attention this summer. Elsewhere, O’Rourke claims defensive midfield is another position which will see action.
Liverpool will sign a No6
Ryan Gravenberch has performed brilliantly at No6 this season but Arne Slot doesn’t trust Wataru Endo or Tyler Morton to start Premier League games.
Accordingly, players like Angelo Stiller and Nicolo Rovella have been linked as potential recruits.
It would be a surprise if Liverpool didn’t add a No9 as well this summer - with doubts persisting over Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz acting as a stop-gap centre-forward this term.
